Get the 35. With a 9.5, these cars can really run a +30. I had 19x9.5 +35 all around with the stock 255/40 tires and they were still too tucked for me. I put 1/4" spacers up front and 5/16" in the rear. 1/4" is about 6.5mm and 5/16 is about 7.25mm, making the wheels +29 front and +28 rear. The 255/40 was a little stretched on the 9.5, so if you were to run 275 or 285/35, they'd be perfect on the 19x9.5 +35.
The 40mm 9.5 will tuck 6mm instead of 1mm with the 35mm/9.5, so if he wants to run a fat tire I'd really recommend the 40mm.
If he's only gonna run a 275 rear tire though, either the 35mm or the 40mm will work.

Luckily there's plenty of us who have done this before haha. I'm currently running 20x10 +40 rear with 285/35 and have plenty of clearance. I can't wait for my 6GRs though. I have the 5-spokes on preorder. They should be in early May. That will be set #6 on the car lmao

Sounds fun but I have my own race to go to.
I have my first autocross race for the season next weekend in Sacramento.
I'm racing my 65 mustang in the CAM class this year SCCA solo 2.

Plus, you're already running it, so you know it fits, right?

Thanks Patrick
Yes, I just wasn't 100% sure after reading over your post, as I began having doubts Gabe.. So I figured that I'd better ask just to make certain for my own piece of mind..
