Help a noob with some new tires

Ive been looking for some new tires to fit my new sve drift wheels 18x9 font and 18x10 rear. Ive been looking at nittos. I like the nt555 and nt05. Both I'm looking at street and drag radial. Sizes I'm looking at are 305/40/18 for drags. 285/40/18 for street. My car is a weekend warrior and I'm not sure which tire is the best bang for my buck.

Any info or suggestions? Past expirences with these tires?

Nt05 is a stickier tire than the 555,(much stickier)overall its a better performance tire.

NT555s are a good street tire and handle well but off the line traction is no better than the stock Pzeros. I have them now and will go with Drag Radials for my next set.

Different compounds, and I ran both, the Pirellis squeal like a pig and break away very quickly, no surprise since the Pzero Nero M&S stockers are just that, A/S M&S... I auto-crossed with both, yes there is quite a difference. 555's give notice when they start to break, which was waaaaay past the Pirellis, and corners were night and day with the 555s. The only thing I found they had in common was the treadwear wore like iron. FWIW I ran Pirellis for two years DD and the Nittos for 4(all summer for both). Who knows you might have had a bad set, not unheard of. Now if you mean the Pzero summer tire, cant say, they could be very similar. But having come from BF Goodrich KDW, Goodyear Eagles, the %%% were like, "wow, so this is a performance tire..." I bet the Michelin PS2 etc are even better. I also ran Sumitomo HTZ 3 after the Nittos, they were a step down, decent tire but no Nitto.
