GT500 Suspension on GT

I've got an opportunity to get these springs, shocks, and struts from this handling pack

http://www.fordracingparts.com/parts...tKeyField=9924

The curb weight difference between a 2011 GT500 and a 2011 Mustang GT is 200 lbs.

I weigh 200 lbs so I can't imagine that these will be all that bad for my car. The thing is that I can probably get these for next to nothing (or maybe even free). Should I put them on my car? Why or why not?

Thanks in advance!

DO EEET!!! I have run GT500FRPP on a 2005 V6 and 2011 Gt500 on my 07 GT and had equally improved results on both.

I literally just did something similar. Beware, that is for 07-09 cars. The front will ride higher than the rear because they're designed for the iron block GT500s. Not a 2011, which had the aluminum block motor.

My car did not drop at all with the springs I have. Less squat, less brake dive, it's a little bit harsher, but not uncomfortably so. The shocks are infinitely better than the GT Brembo/Track Pack shocks. With that much of a drop, however, you're going to want an adjustable PHB.
I have P springs on my car right now, and I would like to go a little lower, while getting rid of the pogo effect I have with my stock dampers.

Do you have any bounce when you drive your car or is it just a solid jolt?

Disregard my post. I have OEM 2012 SVTPP shocks and springs, which are not the same. I thought you posted the handling pack for the 11-12 GT500, which is my dampers with L springs, which are 1.25" drop from factory GT500 height, figuring for the weight of the heavier motor.

I posted the wrong info...

It is the handling pack from a 2011 GT500. It is the L springs with svtpp front struts and I believe the cobra jet rear shocks. Kind of a Frankenstein set up, but this stuff ain't cheap, so I want it! lol

Ok so they are the L springs, svtpp gt500 struts, and m-18000-c shocks

Well, I'm just going to install them today and see if I like them. If I do then I'm gonna keep them and I'll let y'all know if it is a good upgrade

In for pics. I'd like to see what L springs look like with the weight of a GT, as my struts and shocks are apparently designed to work with them.

Well I like the front struts, but as of now I can't figure out how to adjust the rear shocks. They were on a Texas mile gt500 so they are super soft, not ideal for street use at all. They are the cobra jet adjustable shocks (m-18000-cj).

Here's how it sits with the L springs

Does it sit level or is there more gap in the front? The shadows are messing me up. I'm seriously considering these springs, as I have SVTPP shocks and struts on my car right now and these springs are designed to work with those dampers. I thought about doing P springs, but I don't know if the spring rates are similar.

I think it is more leveled than when I had stock shocks and struts with P springs. It definitely doesn't have a reverse rake. I'll measure when I get home to give you exact ride height.

That's awesome. Thanks. Also, I assume you're going to need (or already have) an adjustable PHB.

Don't have a panhard bar but will be getting one soon.

The height from the ground to tdc of my fender well is 28" up front and 28 1/8" in the back. Has a nice level stance

Thank you. When it comes time, I'll be doing this with mine. Enjoy it. The car looks great.
