Not if your deductible is $500-1K and they may raise your rate since it's your fault. So most will want to keep it from them.

Rate may go up ~200/year or something if your record is clean. And accidents stay on the record for what, 3 years? So maybe $600-700 cost due to increased insurance over 3 years would save you money overall. If it was bad weather it's a no fault accident.

Of course depends on what insurance you have.

I'd look around for used wheels if I were you. I recently picked up a set of GT500 18's with F1 supercar tires at ~50% tread for a grand total of about $450... deals are out there if you look around! Sure beats paying more than that for a single new wheel...

I was offered that too. It's a good deal if you need it but I think the cost for me was around $500. I turned it down since my payment was high enough. While back out with my salesman the finance guy comes back out and offers it to me for free. He says he got my interest rate lowered and my payment will still be the same. So I took it!

Translation: He made more money selling the wheel package than interest rate kickbacks so he played with the numbers!

With the prices of these wheels, it's good to have!

People that do crap like that are no better than terrorists. Gutless pieces of crap who don't dare picking a fight with a real person and instead go around in secrecy damaging what hard working folks are proud of. It makes my blood boil!

I bought this for my car, let the finance guy talk me into it, every time I said no he dropped the price. Started at like $800, finally got down to just over $100 and my payment only changed by about $3 so I gave in. Probably will never need to use it.

To the OP, have you considered taking the wheel to a wheel repair shop?

Even though there is a big chunk missing they may still be able to fix it, they'll build up the missing area with weld then machine the wheel back down to the original shape and make it perfectly true. And it will cost less than a new wheel.

I took the wheel to a rim repair shop the following Monday, and the tech spun the wheel on some sort of machine, and he said it was wobbling a lot and therefore completly trashed. We could also see spiderweb cracks in the adjacent spokes.

*update* I found the rim in the United States for $200 or a set of 4, with tires and TPMS for $1279.
Both quotes are without shipping, and I live in Alberta, Canada, which boarders Montana.
These eBay guys state they don't ship to canada. Sadness.
So I'll see what I can do.
