Question 275 tires tramlining?

How bad is the tramlining of 275 tires on front compared to the stock 255's?

I could almost guarantee it would be bad, with 1.5% camber in the front on 255's it gets a bit annoying.

I'm very interested in this too. I am planning on buying new tires in September. I believe it was the ops recommendation in a thread I started that pushed towards 275s. This issue crossed my mind a couple of times.

Per Tire Rack, tramlining can be caused by low profile tires, wider/grippier tires and worn suspension parts, to name just a couple of causes. So yes the 275 would cause slightly more tramline than the 255 but it has other causes as well.
Thanks for posting, I learned something new today.

Thats the reason i went with 255,s instead of wider 275,s on my 2012 Brembo car.

I don't care what size or brand of regular tires because it can't be as bad as the Bridgestone RFL's that came with the BMW I had. I got rid of them as soon as I could. I was running - 2 degrees in the rear and once I changed the tires out for regular tires the tramlining stopped. I went from 255/35/18 RFL's to 265/35/18's and it stopped.

The first thing I'd check is toe. Makes sure you have no toe out a bit of toe in won't hurt.

I recently installed 275/40R18 Conti DWS's on my '13 Track Pack and no tramlining here.

Lol, thanks man ... I'm still getting used to and surprised by the increased traction from these things ... harder to spin, car's tail is harder to step out ... I like them a lot!

I think camber more than the width affects tramlining.

Kingpin offset and tread pattern. Pay attention compared to the stock tire. Most 275 are wrong OD for 19" wheels. If you find this to be the case, suggest larger (40 series vs 35) OD...such as Gabe did.

All that means Gabe is that you can have way more fun in the twisty sections of your favorite roads. I have surprised a couple of people by keeping up with the stock setup.
