Question about upper strut mounts.

Ive got a '14 GT. Planning on a set of Koni STRt and Eibach ProKit. I know my first option is a set of GT500 upper strut mounts since the Konis are not '14 specific. However, I may buy a set of the Steeda HD upper strut mounts in case I ever go lower. I know I need the 05-10' to match the struts. Here is my question. The stock GT upper strut mounts are prone to cracking. The Steeda mounts say to remove the rubber spring seat from the stock uppers and place them on the HD mounts. Is the rubber part ok to transfer? Also, does the stock rubber mount from my '14 fit on the 05-10 uppers, or would I need to by the GT500 ones and transfer that mount? Hope this isnt as confusing as it sounds.

You will need the upper strut mounts from a 2010 or older car. It is perfectly fine to transfer it. The part you transfer will not affect durability. Most folks just use a regular mount and not the gt500 mount as a donor.

Yeah, that was the question. I can use the rubber mount from my '14 to transfer to the 05-10 HD upper strut mount? The rubber part is the same on the '14 GT and the GT500 correct?

Nope. The rubber part on the 05-10 is different. You'll need a mount from 05-10 to remove the rubber part from. It doesn't really matter if its a gt500 mount or regular gt mount from those years.

When you speak of Steeda HD Strut Mounts, are you talking about the 05-10 variety. I have the 11+ Steeda HD Strut Mounts, plus 11+ Koni Yellows and Steeda Sport Springs on my 2013 GT. In my case, I had to transfer the upper spring seat from my OE strut mounts to my Steeda HD Strut Mounts, which is no big deal. Below is one of my assembled front struts and what the stang now looks like lowered, if it helps any.

Yes, the 05-10 variety. Assumed I had to use those since the Koni STRt are not 11-14 specific.

You are right. The Koni sports can be had in 11+ specific. Thats why he was able to use the rubber mounts from his stock mounts. You may want to look at ground control plates. They offer more camber adjustment. They include the rubber part from the mounts already. I talked to jay from hypermotive. I bought the plates and Konis from him. Great price and service.

You will need to get the stock ford upper strut mount for the 05-10' (or GT500) and take off the rubber seat and use that on our 555-8120 strut mounts. The factory '14 rubber seat will not fit on our 05-10 555-8120 mount.

If you go with our Steeda Pro-Action shocks and struts, the car will handle great, and it will ride much better.

http://www.steeda.com/store/steeda-1...ks-struts.html With these he can use our 555-8135 mounts and re-use his factory rubber seat.

Let me know if I can help assist you with an order or provide any additional questions/answers? You can reach me at tim @ steeda.com

Best Regards,

TJ
