I originally was going to get a 2013 GHIG, that I had ordered, and the Dealership sold it out form beneath me at 6K over MSRP.
I ended up getting this guy with 3400 miles on it, and the Track key already installed. After a lot of thinking about it, I believe I am happier with this car.
It is funny how things work out sometimes.

Honestly though, I think you dodged a bullet there with the GHIG. Yeah its a neat color, but its one of those colors that is going to look real tacky and outdated in like 5 years. Bright red is timeless.

A lot of people ask me "why did you get red? Everyone gets that color"...to be honest I see way more black and blue mustangs. I've only seen 2 other bright red/race red mustangs in my city so far. One is a V6 vert, the other is a CS/GT

It needs one or two exterior mods for now. I have a list of things I'd like to add but I think first it needs a GT500 spoiler. The back end is just to fat and stubby on this generation of the s197. Also thinking about AMR machined or silver wheels and moving up in size to 19" wheels vs these 18" ones. Maybe chrome wheels of another design. Maybe bullitts. Don't want black, too many cars with black wheels these days for me.

Other things I've thought about are side and quarter window scoops as a possibility. Not sure. Also looking at RTR chin spoilers and splitters for after the spoiler and wheels additions maybe.

Had a deposit and everything on it. And this is from a Dealership that I had bought vehicles from since 1995.
Pretty sad state of affairs...But in the end, I believe a blessing in disguise.
My Base BOSS RR, has no Recaros or a Torsion, which ends up making it only 1 of 35 made. Kind of interesting.

And to your point, I'd much rather have a Boss no matter what the color, over a GHIG GT anyway so I think it was definitely a blessing in disguise for you.

Not that I have anything against a GT. I had just been saving for a BOSS since 2010......Maybe even longer.
I saw Parnelli Jones run in a Trans Am race when I was 9 years old.....

Lol my mistake. Either way, I'd rather have the Race Red over the GHIG. I didn't choose Race Red, it chose me I guess because of the insane deal I found with this car, but even if I had ordered it to be built with both colors as an option, I still would have gone with Race Red. Wish mine was a Boss.

And I do know who that is even though I'm only 24. Im a Huge race fan, so I'm not judging age at all haha.

 

More shots I took by the bay today. Stock spoiler will be coming off very soon and replaced with a CS/ Laguna Seca Spoiler. Can't wait. Also looking into wheel options. Kind of like mine but they just don't stand out enough.

Lol I've already ordered it. I mean i guess it could be returned but I can't stand the tiny little thing they put on here. I had an 07 GT before this and I loved the pedestal spoiler on it. It looked like the old 69-70 boss pedestal spoiler kind of. I went back and forth with the idea of a GT500 spoiler but I don't know. The back needs something substantial to it. I wish I could cut the rear end off of an 05-09 and weld it to the back of this body because personally I think they did a much better job on those. Looked a million times better.

RTR spoiler is cool I guess but I'm not putting black wheels on my car and without that I think it looks out of place just stuck on there without more black.

 

I think the RTR spoiler will look fine w/o black wheels. Have all the dark plastic along the bottom. Will tie in nicely. I didn't like the RTR in pictures. But dealer by me has 2 on the lot. Looks good in person

 

My car made the poster for the next autocross event here in Corpus Christi! I'm famous! lol yeah right. Pretty cool shot though that they edited for the poster.
