TracKey available!?
Stopped by my dealer today. When they plugged my car in to check on software updates, the message came up, "activate TracKey"!

I didn't have the red key with me, so I can't verify that it's here.

Will go back tomorrow or Monday.

My dealer is a Ford Racing Dealer.

That would corroborate the story I got at a car show a couple weeks ago from a guy with a new Boss. Fingers crossed.

I'll swing by my dealer tomorrow have them hookup to my PCM and no I don't usually have my TracKey with me either Dave. I better go put it in the car though so I don't forget Seems hard to believe they wouldn't make an announcement though. Of course they announced it when it wasn't available so maybe they're following the same logic by not announcing it when it is available

What did you hear a couple of weeks ago? What I heard two weeks ago was it was September and it was from a source at Ford Racing at Laguna Seca. I'm very skeptical that TracKey is available but I hope I'm wrong.

I'm not an expert on all the in and outs of how this works but I was told that the program will need to be sent to the dealer and then installed. How that is done I don't know but I assume a CD, maybe downloaded or whatever and then they must request it with the car's VIN. I assume the program they were using just has a space setup for the trackey program but it would still need the software when it is ready. For example my truck will show something about the TBC before it was installed in the dash.

I do hope I am wrong ....

I think they download it over the Internet. That's how they get other updates.
