What brand and size of Track wheels are you finding will work on the boss. Also what brand and tire sizes will work and keep circumferences the same as original.

The best option I've found (and I've tried a few and researched to no end) is as follows:

Enkei PF01 (silver)
Front 18 x 9.5 35mm offset
Rear 18 x 10.5 38mm offset

Nitto 555RII
Front 285/35/18 (25.9" vs 26.9" stock)
Rear 305/35/18 (26.3" vs 26.9" stock)

I also have a set of FRPP Boss 302S wheels:

19 x 9 Front
19 x 10 Rear

Hoosier R6
Front 265/35/19 (26.1" vs 26.9" stock)
Rear 295/30/19 (26.1" vs 26.9" stock)

I haven't run the Hoosiers yet, but the Enkei/Nitto setup is great. I'm on my second set of 555RIIs.

Keeping stock diameter and getting actual track tires is near impossible -- there aren't any in a 27" diameter, generally. Most are 25.5", 26 as stated above.
If you're happy with max performance street tires, there's lots of options.

The Koni and now Continental series Mustangs all used undersized tires as well. One advantage is the gearing is increased a bit, though not as big an issue for the big bad Bosses.

I'm going to a square 265/35/-18 Hankook next year, but more for class limitations than anything else. I'd prefer minimum of a 275, and with 440+ HP the 285 up is even better.

I'm likely going TSW Nurburgring 18x9.5, bronze matte finish, about $250 each, 21lbs. Not quite as light as the Enkei, but a fair bit cheaper, and better looking in my opinion.

I bought the Enkeis through my dealer's TireRack account and he cut me a really good deal. I bought my other set three years ago through a local shop. They were able to just call Enkei and get opened as a dealer.

There are absolutely no clearance issues with the 305s. You could put a NItto NT01 315 on that rim and still no clearance issues. The R6s in a 315 call for an 11" rim so that doesn't work well. The outside edge of the tire sticks out just a bit, but there are absolutely no worries about rubbing. I've done probably 50 track days with these wheels. I've also run them on my GT500 with adjustable coilovers and that car is slammed. I attached pics of them (painted black) on the Boss and from the GT500. Hopefully it gives you a perspective of the fitment.

Those TSW wheels look amazing. Will the 18" TSW wheel clear the Brembo calipers? Please post photos once you have installed them. I'm not a fan of the way the Enkei wheels look, but respect their functional virtues.

**** those TSWs are sexy, good price too. I wouldnt be too concerned with weight; most guys here arent getting into competitive racing with their Bosses so who cares if you are 0.1 seconds slower than you would be with balsa wood .0002 ounce wheels, you'll save some $$!!

Thanks for the info, I think I want to go with the same Enkei setup you have. I assume the brake clearance on the boss is ok. The rear wheels come in silver only did you paint yours black? If so what process did you use and how is the paint holding up. Also can you powder coat racing wheels, I have heard some controversy on this.

There's a ton of room on the Brembos especially compared to the stock wheels. It's not even close. In fact the 45mm offsets still clear by quite a ways, but they get a little close to the strut for my tastes, but still work.

I took them to a friend who has a body shop. He scuffed them up and sprayed them black. He didn't clear them (said he didn't want to add any more weight) but I think he didn't want to spend any more time on them lol. They look really good. They're holding up really well so far, but I do have some rock chips in a few places. Since they're track wheels I think that's pretty unavoidable, especially with black.

Here's a pic of when they were silver for comparison. They don't look bad but I like them better black.

TSWs have some tarnished history with overly soft aluminum used in their wheels. I won't be buying any of their products for use on the track; they would be fine for street use I'm sure, however.

Have heard the same in the past; their new Interlagos and Nurburgring wheels are rotary forged, similar to what ForgeStar does, supposedly.

Shelby GT at the track (PPIR in Fountain, CO) this weekend with the 18x9.5 Interlagos on, over Baer GT Plus brake system, plenty of spoke clearance, and at least 1/2" from caliper to wheel barrel. Not sure how those compare to the Brembo 4 pot calipers, though. He got them for $217 each at his local Discount Tire.

White Shelby GT by chance? Ed?

There were two white Shelby GTs, a Justin I'd met before, and a Ed Rizza from Conifer (had to look it up as I didn't recall his name). Ed had the Interlagos wheels.

Actually best S197+ turnout I've seen in the 3 years I've been doing NASA. Two GT500s on Saturday, the two white Shelbys, a new black 5.0, then a blue 5.0 on Sunday, and a GO Boss 302 one of the TTA guys just bought. He was having overheating problems (we all were, was 90+ most of the time), but I don't know if he has all the extra cooling pieces yet.

I knew it! I met Ed at the Sturgis Mustang Rally a couple years ago. He's been bouncing wheel/tire ideas off me the past few months. Sounds like he must have gotten his driveshaft fixed ok. On his first track day it sounded like he had some issues with it.

Boy I'd like to hear more about the overheating Boss. What additional cooling parts are you talking about.....brakes and trans? Seems like 90F is the magic number. I'm heading to Hastings, NE Thursday but the forecast high is only 81. Hoping my "ventilated" grille helps although if it only gets to 81 I'm not expecting any issues. Either way I'll be watching coolant temps with interest.

That is me with the CO 302. 3-4 laps and it would overheat . Not sure what extra cooling pieces you speak of, but if you wouldn't mind giving me a 'heads-up', it would be greatly appreciated!

Transmission cooling scoop is on the way (should be here tomorrow)... but the water temps were definitely no bueno.

Getting back on topic Vorshlag Motorsports (www.vorshlag.com) is a company out of Dallas the builds suspension parts for BMWs, Subies, etc. The owner (Terry) now has a 2011 GT that he is building for SCCA STX class. He is currently working with D-Force to build 18x10s for this car. If you aren't familiar with D-Force, I can tell you first hand that they are light, and relatively strong. Don't have a price yet as the first 'test' wheels are only arriving this Wednesday. I have run these wheels in the past on my TTC BMW M3 and plan on running them on the B-302 for track days. 18x10s should come in @ 20 lbs.

Something to consider if you can wait a little longer.
