Start-up/idle problems

hey guys,

I'm having a problem with my Boss where when the car starts the idle is very uneven. After the revs come down they stick below 1000 and fluctuate down to about 600 every 5 to 10 seconds or so and really bog the engine down just for a second. After I've been driving it for a while it feels better, but every once in a while you'll feel it bog while waiting at a stop light.

I'm taking the car in to the dealership to have it checked out soon, but I wanted to see if any of the the "experts" on the board had any input as to what this might be so I can describe it a little better to the problem solvers so I don't come back with a "cannot replicate"!

Oh, and this goes without saying, but i'm not using the trackey!

I appreciate it!

I have a '13 GT and I left work for lunch a couple hours ago, and the traction control kicked on for no reason so I turned off the car... Started it back up, and now the idle is rough... bounces from 300-800 rpms every couple of seconds... I'm interested in hearing what people have to say on this one.

I've been out of Mustangs for several years, but if it were an SN95 - It sure would sound like the Idle Air Controller (IAC) was sticking.

Yes, I would replace the idle air control valve. The function of the IAC is to regulate small volumes of air to maintain a target idle rpm.
