So who's tuned their boss?
I've done a couple internet searches but haven't come up with much, which isn't surprising I suppose since the boss is pretty limited production. Has anyone actually done a tune or intake/tune on their boss? I'm considering it but would like to hear some real world impressions and dyno numbers or track times.
I had tunes on both my 2006 V6 and 2009 GT and honestly it wasn't that much of a difference in power over stock. I feel like the biggest change is the throttle response, which is already pretty **** good in the Boss in my opinion.

I took mine to AED with about 2000 miles on it. Shaun's Dynocom measured 404 stock and 412 tuned. I have since installed a Steeda CAI and upgraded AED tune. I haven't redynoed but Shaun estimates 10-15 hp with the intake.

We installed our Steeda CAI and tune on our Boss 302 LS.
I will have to confirm the numbers but I think the LS put out 480HP to the crank.
I will keep you updated ... or if you would like ... send me an email to tim@steeda.com if I can provide tuning information?
Best Regards,
TJ

Thanks for the feedback guys. What are your impressions as far as butt dyno?
I'll probably be getting an intake and tune towards the end of the snowy season in about a month here. There's a mustang tuning shop 10 minutes from me so I want to try and do a before and after intake and tune run. And then I'll be taking it to Bandimere in May
TJ: thanks for the link, I'm definitely leaning towards you guys for the intake/tune package since you seem to be one of the only vendors specifically advertising Boss tuning.

Click on the link to hear the cammed tune video. I ran this tune till May 2011 and then the Kenne Bell went on that added 383 additional REAR WHEEL HORSEPOWER!!

Found the video of my car after the Lund tune, Magnaflow X pipe, and Borlas S Types installed at Evolution Performance. This Vid was taken in March 2011 with 400 miles on the car and made 400 RWHP on their dyno. Just over 33 RWHP gain, but huge increases under the curve and rev limit was set at 8100 RPM. Its funny my friend posted this, because he borrowed my camera and I forgot I made this video of the idle. **** I miss my Boss
Please excuse the sound as this was quite loud and i do not have a pro camera/mic setup

Yeah that's the reason I'm not going to put the trackey on mine. I'd rather spend the money on something that increases power and doesn't prevent me from doing other modifications

what were your stock numbers? you cannot compare dyno to dyno only same dyno after mods? For example dyno jets read 5-8% higher than a Mustang loaded dyno...and dynapacks are another story as they remove rolling resistance of the tires out of the numbers. But stock vs mod are real...it's al about the gains
My car with the KB on a dynojet would have made over 810 hp but thats not fair to compare to a mustang dyno baseline

Do any of the aftermarket tunes give you the same engine braking on decel or activate the two-step launch control or pit lane speed control?

I'm sitting here with a track key and I would be happy to buy a tune once its ready.

I'd rather not spend 300-400 on a trackey when it doesn't make the car any faster and prevents me from doing other modifications.

I already think my car engine brakes plenty aggressively on the stock key.
Not sure what I'd ever use pit lane speed control for honestly.
