My roll bar and harnesses get here on Wedenesday. After I get the hood, I'll have a poor man's S.

I had already ordered the MM 4 pt with the welded harness bar and additiaonal diagonal brace before I knew Kendall was working on one. I ordered a rear seat delete from this company:

http://www.rearseatdelete.com/

and I ordered 6pt harnesses, HANS and fire extinguisher from LPI Racing.

I dunno why you guys buy the dinky fire extinguishers. They're not big enough to put out any fire that might actually occur, and you're going to be wasting time fumbling around with them rather than getting yourself out of the car.

Even with an SFI/5 double-layer nomex suit, time to 2nd-degree burn is only 7-10 seconds.

yeah, waste no bleeping time going for the extinguisher. They're only good in a situation where the fire is very small AND you've already exited the car.

I just recently fought a gastank fire with 2 of those and I have no idea how we made it or stopped the flames. The driver was smart to leave his in there and bail the heck out.

FRPP Front Grill -- Question -- And Post Install Pics

Based on pics in this thread, I presume the grill's front is white --just like the ones used at Miller Motorsports Park for the Track Attack Bosses. If possible can someone post pics post install? Thanks.

I think they are black and you paint it any color you want. The 2012 302S came in PW or CO and I think they had white ones available when they shipped them off to MMP.

That's more the reason I picked one up. To help someone else potentially in the paddock or on track. If my car's on fire you can bet I'm going to be running like hell

NorCal Shelby requires one to run at their track days.

I saw two guys in total disbelief that they were enforcing that rule!

I made a bracket out of a piece of 1" wide 1/8" thick steel bar stock. Used the existing bolts at the front of the pass side seat. I must not be the blacksmith I wish I was because only 3 of my 4 propane torch heated bends bent. The other broke.. Welder!!!

I don't know why those orange and yellow and blue cars get so hot. The Race Red car of mine didn't get past half way on the idiot gauge the other day.

Now I have to decide on hood pins. 2 pins, 4 pins or no pins. Talking to Paul it sounds like you don't really need any with the street version using the factory latch. I don't like how my stock one flutters at high speed, but of course with the venting the pressure is reduced and hopefully elminates that. I'm leaning toward 4 to match the S. I have to decide by next week. I wonder if you go with 4 and eliminate the stock hood latch if there's any significant weight savings. I can't imagine it weighs much and may be a pain to remove.

I was more concerned about the flutter leading to my hood flying off on the track. Your hood's not coming off with those four hood pins with or without the factory latch I had to search for pics of your car again and every time I see it I say "Man, I really like that car". I've seen the CO/BK with two pins as well and it looks good. Oh decisions, decisions.

I got my hood from Dean at Rehagen. Not4re made some good points air if front of the grill and air after the radiator. One thing he missed was where the air goes after the grill before the radiator. With the stock latch mechanisium the air can escape before going through the radiator. Any gaps at the bottom infront of the radiator gaps on the sides.. The factory rarely does an good job controlling the air flow.

My fix for air control. You can also see the oil cooler mounted at the top of the radiator.

I figured as much. I know the hood pins are all I need. What I meant by security is when I park the car. When the beast is out of her cage no one can just pop the hood. I get the same feeling every time I see her too. Best car I've ever owned! My friend with his 11 lightly modded M3 keeps telling me his car is faster, but keeps making excuses of why he can't go to the track. LOL

I like the look of two pins....

Where the stock latch is really take away that much airflow?..... I can't imagine that it does.....

Saw JBG's car this weekend, that hood looks awesome.
