ie. A dealer assigns two Mustang orders a 10 and an 11. If the dealer gets allocation for "one" Mustang in an allocation cycle then the 10 will get the go ahead to build. As long as the dealer doesn't assign another Mustang order a "10", the next Mustang allocation the dealer gets will get the "11" built.

So, that being said, it is very unlikely at the dealer level that you would have a "Priority 1" allocation as the dealer can only assign 10 and up; 9 and down can only be assigned by an area district managers or higher ups in the management system and are usually reserved for reorders (ie your first order fell off the truck) or VIPs.

The person more likely meant that you were #1 in their queue; or a priority 10.

Not trying to burst your bubble -- just take it one thing at a time. Like I said, unless your DISTRICT area manager is involved, your priority number will not be below 10.

Who is your dealer?

You're correct. At the dealership level we give each order a priority code so that Ford knows which order to build them in (within a given model line). 10 means build it first, all the way up to 99 which means don't ever build it. GT500's and Boss 302's are being manually scheduled by the regional office. Once the regional office manually overrides and submits an order, they can assign a priority code of 01. Then it's a given that it'll be the next one built.

I was just kidding. No worries you're not going to burst my bubble. I know nothing other than what my dealer is telling me. My dealer is Sioux Falls Ford. They are the 3rd largest Mustang dealer in the Twin Cities region I believe. The earilest the snow will be gone is late March, so realistically if I see it around that time it gives me a chance to get the first mods done before hitting the track in April.

I like the sounds of that Next one built as in the next Mustang they receive? They did say they just got a build date on a CS that was ordered the week before mine.

Not necessarily the next one they receive (as they're still gonna get 2011's for another month), and if there are quality control holds specific to the Boss 302's, then it could get held up at the factory after it's built while the other models are free to ship.

However, if your priority code is 01 now (as assigned by the regional office), then it'll be the next 2012 Mustang scheduled for production for your dealership.

My Boss which is a Q3 build has a priority number of 10 which makes sense as to what you guys are saying. It will be interesting to watch as we get closer to see if my priority number drops!!

Congrats to those of you who are now just in the process of waiting!

I wish my dealer were on top of things...here is the email reply I just received back from them in regards to the Boss..

"I just talked with my manager. We have been confirmed we are getting a BOSS Mustang but they are not even making them yet and have not released what each dealership is getting. Also, pricing will be in the 40k range it sounds like."

They give almost no information and seeing as how they "don't know the price yet" they cant answer any of my pricing questions. I might as well be talking to a wall *sigh*

Brian:

I got a priority of 12 on my DORA. I was told by the dealer that I was getting a Q4'11 allocation. Does that match up?

At this point in time, if you have a Q4 allocation, then the priority code assigned to your car now is a moot point. And besides, Boss & Shelby Mustangs are being manually scheduled by the regional offices, so when your dealer's allocation time arrives, they'll call your dealer and ask which Boss in their order banks they want built next, regardless of priority codes.

If the dealer only has 1 Boss allocated per quarter then I guess mine will be the highest priority Mustang of the quarter then??

Not necessarily. There may be customers at your dealershipe who've ordered GT500's, V6's, or GT's that will be in the mix for priority against your Boss then. Again, priority codes are within an entire model line, not down to the trim level. It's up to the dealership to prioritize their Mustang orders in a fair & equitable manner.
