Daily Driver?
i daily drive mine. haul the kids back from school in it every day. park at the back of the lot at the store, i love the car. im not a garage queen sort of guy. i love that my car gets thumbs up from fourth graders at my kids' school, can drive to walmart with them in the back. and then hit the track and make the Porsche gt3 guys wonder why the hell they can't outrun me. boss is an epic DD if your winters are mild.
You just have to remember that they run summer tires. i left home to get the kids a few weeks ago, forgot it was cool out (about 40). nailed it to get on the highway out of my neighborhood and went a good 200 feet (lol at least it felt that way) sideways up the road wondering if it was going to hook before the cars already at 70 hit me. it was fun, but the neighbor behind me trying to get on the road thought i was insane. and FTR don't trust the TC in sport mode to save your ****, it didn't kick in until i was so sideways id have looped it if i couldn't drive decently.

Mine is my DD, and I'm not the garage queen type of guy on a car that costs less than $75K. Now if I had any of the Cobra R's, then those would be track day only cars. But the Boss is a VERY fun DD, one that I will do my best to clean it up as often as I can.
Yeah get a 5.0 for a daily driver the Boss looses value every mile you take. My 2 cents which aren't worth anything in this economy is that you buy a boss to ether race it and use its full potential or garage it and use its collectors potential. Otherwise it's not worth the investment.
Take it with the appropriate weight.

I must agree with Gt1000 on this. The boss has what 440 hp. The current 5.0 has 412. That's a whooping difference of 28 hp. The boss is gonna cost a good 5 g more than 5.0. Heck, go spend $ 650 on a sct bama tuner and cold air intake and heck your almost at 440 hp for thousands less. Granted the boss has a better suspension system for racing on track but if you ain't racing track then why bother with the better suspension. If all your doing is using your boss for your daily commute to Dunkin Donuts then the office, food store, Sunday stroll then the boss is really a waste of extra money when the 5.0 will be a better deal. Just my 2 cents.
Hey, Don't get me wrong. I like having a fast car and one that feels sporty but if your not a professional race car driver is there really a need to have 650 horsepower car as a daily commuter. Its cool you could go 200 mph in the upcoming Cobra but where the heck you drive 200 mph in the United States. I live in Maryland and there ain't know where to drive 200 mph. Im sure the 150 mph in the 5.0 will get you to the movies and dinner.

Just because you daily drive it and even stop by the donut shop, doesn't mean you don't or can't take it to the track or show it. I have put 8k on mine since June and have now recently taken it to the track. It's the best DD I've ever had.
It's America. If someone wants a 650 HP lawn ornamate then it's their option. An what the hell is that comment about only race car drivers needing 650 in a DD? So they can drive 200 on the street but not an amateur driver? Makes zero sense my friend.

Not to sound like an uppity *******, but the Boss motor is far more different than the GT than just 32 HP (444hp).

Yes the motor is forged just like the gt500 you can get serious power out of it with power adders but if your not going to use that potential then why pay for it. The topic was which car would make a better daily driver the gt500 or the boss. I was simply intraducing a third more financially practical option of getting tge car that was designed as a daily driver. If you were going to drive the car and hit the draggs once in a while then go GT500, if your going to hit tge ring go BOSS. If you will never do ether then GT. You can also buy a Ferrari and use it as a taxi but again you will be paying for a bunch of extra performance and add ons that you are not using. The stock Boss has little to no advantage over the GT with a tune on the street.
