Daily Driver?
Have you guys driven a 5.0 GT and Boss 5.0? Its not just the forged internals, it feels like a different engine for multiple reasons. How anyone can suggest that GT with a CAI and tune is the "same thing" is beyond me.

Yes the motor is forged just like the gt500 you can get serious power out of it with power adders but if your not going to use that potential then why pay for it. The topic was which car would make a better daily driver the gt500 or the boss. I was simply intraducing a third more financially practical option of getting tge car that was designed as a daily driver. If you were going to drive the car and hit the draggs once in a while then go GT500, if your going to hit tge ring go BOSS. If you will never do ether then GT. You can also buy a Ferrari and use it as a taxi but again you will be paying for a bunch of extra performance and add ons that you are not using. The stock Boss has little to no advantage over the GT with a tune on the street.
I will be using its potentional personally, plans are for CAI, exhaust, 150 shot, and so on.
I also am taking the car to Germany in 2013, and it will see track use over there, especially on THE 'Ring.
I completely disagree with everyone here. If the Boss were my daily driver, I'd have a gazillion tickets and certainly lose my license within the first 6 months of making that decision. The Boss is the evil anti-Christ kind of car. It talks to me - I swear it. It's that black lab puppy - thing..... "let's play", "let's hunt", "betcha can't catch that car", "cut that idiot off", etc.
DD? I'd be in jail.

Out of curiosity what is your guys' DD's? I'm basically budgeting for a ticket!
Right now (this week) #733 is in the garage and I'm driving my 99 Super Duty Crew Cab Diesel 4x4 6 Speed. It's got almost 300k miles on it.

Now, when I get to Germany in 2013, I will not be DD'ing it, and I'll be able to break this habit by having a beater to drive in the winter, and I'll do my best to drive i during the week in the spring/summer/fall as well. And for 11 months in 2012 the Boss will be in storage while I'm in Korea, so there won't be much DD miles on #1920.
My DD is an 06 Honda Element AWD 5MT. Doesnt get very good mpg but keeps the miles off the Boss, great for hauling stuff, you can hose out the interior, and I dont have to worry where I park it.

It's funny how invisible you are when you're not driving the Boss.
Boss gets out about twice a week, weather permitting.

My DD is a 2003 MINI Cooper S with a buck and a half on the clock. Great vehicle in its own right, and on a super tight auto-x course, it will run rings around any 'stang, even a Boss. Still there is no replacement for displacement, and a blown 1.6 is no match for a 5.0 in the hp department.

Yeah, MINIs are a blast. I had one of the first in the country, and about four years ago convinced my neighbor that she too needed a MINI. Her household now has two MINIS, so I must have done a good job of selling the marque. My wife, OTOH likes jellybean vehicles, particularly softly sprung ones. She and I are polar opposites when it comes to cars (she does like to be seen in a nice car, like the Boss, just not drive a stiffly sprung one).

Now she just sits quietly when riding in the Boss (NOT!)
I drive a 2005 RX-8 about 1/2 the time during the warm months and all the time during the winter. Ironically, it gets the same fuel mileage as the Boss even though it has 1/2 the power and a 700 pound weight advantage!
