Hmmm... I have a 2012 GT500 with the SVTPP and a 2013 Boss Laguna Seca and there is No Way the Boss is as fast. I'm not a race car driver but IMO both handle nicely on the twisty country roads around here. In fact I'd not be surprised to learn that a lot of the parts came from the same bin at Ford Racing. The biggest difference I noticed is that you can stay in a given gear 1400 RPM longer in the Boss.
I don't care for the trans with 5th gear as 1:1 in the Boss. Makes no sense. Why not put the stronger Tremec in the Boss too? The Boss shifter is very smooth and close gated though. (Maybe there's an advantage to be had in a real road course competition where one doesn't get out of the lower gears.)
I plan to upgrade my GT500's performance soon and then I'll probably have to install a blower on the Boss to avoid feeling let down. At least it has forged internals for longevity under boost.
Bottom line, I am very thankful I can have a couple of American automotive icons to play with and hopefully hang onto the freedom to do so.
