Mine was built the same week as yours but is still awaiting shipment. You are in west TN and I am in East TN. Seems to me that they should have shipped about the same time. Ah, well. The ways of Ford are many and mysterious.

 

Bummer!! Just found out that my Boss was 'Returned to Plant' yesterday at 2:05 PM. Anybody else in the same boat? My build date was 05/20 and is still showing a 06/10 ETA.

 

I have the same build date with an ETA of 6/11 don't know if the car has shipped yet. As of Friday it hadn't. Dealer is useless and Deysha is off, so I'm in the dark

 

Dunno what the problem is but be happy they caught it before it got to you.

 

Oh, I am. Just sort of bummed that it doesn't look like I will be getting it on Friday, which is my birthday.

I hear ya! Thought I had it sold but the guy backed out at the last minute. Don't mind being seen in it nearly as much as I mind the crappy gas mileage it gets. It does get attention though.

 

Does anyone know how to track rail cars other than CSX? I'm on the West Coast so will mine be shipped via Union Pacific? Does the rail car number stay the same from start to finish or does it change if the carrier changes?

My build dates was 5/19. Shipped 5/31. Just spoke with the dealer and car is at the railyard in Mesquite,TX. Supposed to be at the dealer in Irving, TX on Friday, the day I leave on vacation for a week! At least I will have something to look forwarf to when I return

 

mine was listed as having been with Canadian National Railway. I called them, based on the phone # I found in another thread for CSX. they gave me some info, and also referred me to Union Pacific, who now has the railcar. their # is 800.272.8777

they have an automated system that will track the car. I suspect your car will end up in Benicia, same as mine. and, yes, same rail car #

 

my car just left there at 5:08 eastern heading west with a wet coast eta of 7am sat june 11 - in 'industry'....so I'm not sure if it goes to the socal 'Industry' then heads north...or if there's a designation for Benicia that's something like that.

anyhow, more that anybody other than me cares to know...but there you go.

mine went from flat rock, MI to Gibson, IN to Silver Creek, NE...

Thanks for the 800 automated number. However, how did you get your initial rail car number... as I would like to do the same detailed tracking as you are. I just want to ask the right question when I call FCS. THANKS

 

I actually got it from someone I know at Ford (I used to work there...ironically, my last job there was managing all of the inventory scheduling / flow to the western region of the US...that was about 15 years ago).

I believe the dealer can get it for you. Deysha (FCS) may also be able to...but I don't know.

oh mine's now 30 miles west of silver creek, NE...just kidding.

 

I PM'd Deysha late Tuesday about the status but she was off today. Maybe she will have some good news for me tomorrow!

 

On the window sticker near the bottom there's a box that says "RAIL" and a number right beside that. By chance, would that number work?
