My 2 cents................

Had a '12 Boss, loved that car. Just a fun beast to drive and the exhaust sound was awesome..................then I found a great deal on a '11 GT500 and haven't looked back

My point is don't settle. You will have regrets if you do. If you want the Boss there are deals out there, you're just gonna have to dig and not give up and be willing to travel or ship it if necessary.

My suggestion...get a Shelby

Here's a suggestion, instead of going by the opinions of others why not go out and test drive a GT, Boss, and a GT 500 and then make a decision based on your own likes and dislikes.

If not a dealer then perhaps he may know someone with one in his area that may let him try it out.

Since your first post in this thread advised me to leave the Boss for an enthusiast and your second post advised me not to make decisions based on the opinions of others I guess I will ignore both suggestions? But then I would be making that decision based on the opinions of others too...

My first post was based on background you provided about yourself, my second post was a suggestion not an opinion. Btw, whatever happened to no offense taken?

IMO I cringe when I see videos online of people who bought a Boss and are just dragging the car and not using it for what IMO it is meant for. However I think if you bought a Boss and wanted to see a Track Attack or HPDE or PDX you would have a capable car, I don't think the same would be said for a GT or GT500.

For what it's worth, all the options tech wise will eventually be outdated, if you are planning for this to be a lifelong car, they won't matter. Here's what matters, upgraded rotating assembly, clutch, suspension, and IMO, not having another "me too" car. Besides, you buy a Boss today, then tomorrow someone invites you to open track day. You never thought you would track it, but now you have to join a car club and take her to the track as a new hobby. Get a Boss!

I only read the OP. My vote is to get a Boss.

The 12 Boss is going to age well because there isn't really much to date it. No fancy electronics - just a fantastic motor attached to a great platform.

Get the Boss.

In my opinion, if money isn't a concern, get the boss. Even if you have to stretch a little it will be wort it to you in the long run.

That worked out well for you. It seems unlikely that the pricing would fall off on the '13's in a similar manner as there won't be a MY'14 to push the dealers to expunge the '13's. Maybe when they announce whatever the '14 SE's will be?

My dealer actually took in a '12 Boss on trade yesterday. Perf. White with 6k miles. They have a 42k sticker on it. I'm sure I could get them to take less, but idk if it would be enough to justify not just getting a '13. I hate the plastic rocker panels on the '12's but it doesn't look that bad on the Perf. Whites with black striping. My decision is getting nothing if not more complicated...
For 6k the price range should be 41-39k 42k IMO is to much to ask for and I have been looking to buy a 12 Boss 302 for the last 3 months.

Look around, even if you have to drive to get one dealers are selling them at MSRP or you can buy a 2012 that are still on the lots. I believe there are one or 2 RR 2012s out there that they are selling at or under MSRP.

To what part of the statement, also I bought mine in DE for 42.5k no miles and they had a CO/Black I believe for the same price, this was 2 months ago so I am not sure if they still have it and it would be a bit of a drive but they may come down on the price, and the fact that it is brand new is nice. Sheridan Ford I believe was the seller.

I did the same thing - got interested in the Boss and wound up buying a GT. The Boss is an absolutely awesome package. But I figure that I'll wind up modding the suspension at some point anyway, so the major substantive difference is in the engine.

Bottom line, 301A + Track Pack + Recaros was $12.5k+ less than a Boss 302.

Not using them for drag racing. With a Forged Motor they almost are begging to have some Big PSI flowing through there.

I ended up with buying a Race Red '13 Boss, #403.
She needs a wash. I'll post some better pics later.

If anyone is looking for a Boss under MSRP Town East Ford just East of Dallas agreed to sell me a PW one for $2k off sticker (I spoke with Marcus and Presley).
Randall Noe Ford in Terrell, Texas sold me the Race Red one for 2k under plus took off the cost of the tint and doc fees (ended up being right at $43k with Recaros and floor mats/cover). After the fact I actually feel like I could have pushed it and gotten it cheaper (I always feel that way though).

As some people have said Bosses can certainly be had for under sticker if you take the time to search and are willing to travel. I went to cars.com and found every dealer within 100 miles that had a Boss listed at sticker or under (I didn't even bother with those listed over sticker). I called them all and asked for their best number. Eventually found a few willing to deal. I had to drive an hour to get my red one, but that's nothing really. Would have expanded my search further if I hadn't found anyone within 100 miles.

Best of luck to everyone on the hunt for their Boss, and thank you to everyone that responded to my post.
