I've been workin' on the railroad, All the live long day... I have always wanted to say/sing that-->
Over 3 decades with the BNSF and one thing is always true, trains move at the speed of cold syrup, unless the the shipper pays big bucks for shipping on the highest priority Hot Shots. Trains spend more time stationary than on the move, unless big money is involved.

I know but they must share the same call center. That or CSX has a railcar also numbered SP 517499.

800-235-2352. Automated answer. Type in 1-32818192 #(which is ETTX) then the rail number ## so mine is,
132818192#900640##. Good luck people.

Ron

Does that work for Canadian National also?

I only researched CSX, I do not know about Canadian national. It took about 15 minutes of Internet time to do this. Actually the post I got the info on was someone tracking a GTO a while ago. I already had the rail car # so it was easy.

I don't mind if mine was one of the cars the factory pulls at random to test. That way, if something is found wrong (whether by driving or static testing) it will be fixed by the absolute best people to fix it. If something is going to break, I'd rather it break while they have it than when I'm driving. If they need to drive it xx miles or so to test or fix something, so be it.

I know the factory has a small rough road (track) they use for finding rattles. I don't know if every car is tested.

That being said, I sure don't want a dealer lot jockey playing around with it.

I told my dealer absolutely no test rides when it arrives. I will watch it come off the truck and go into the service dept for PDI. All build tags and papers are to be saved and I'll photo everything for provenance.

Exactly, I don't know. Autoport handles the yard shipping and shipping between VPC and the plant. So it could mean any number of things from simply returning the car from VPC to returning it to the plant for a minor repair/concern. What ends up in VV isn't always uniform -- I think sometimes it depends who's doing the logging that day.

It mean's it's still at Ramp 51 waiting to be checked. SOmetimes (as I said before) First in doesn't always mean first out, it depends on who parks it; it may be buried a few cars in.

Another resaon first in/first out might not apply - transportation is waiting for a number of cars for the same geographic destination before loading a conveyance.

Thanks for the update. It will be interesting when/if we get separated or moved to a different train or car.

I got this update from my dealer this morning. The time stamp is 49 minutes before the update I got from CN. At least I have a new ETA and hopefully it's somewhat accurate. My dealer said once it gets dropped in Cottage Grove, MN they can make a call to get it moving right away.

I'm not sure that your car will get moved. CN has lines all the way to the West Coast so your car may ride all the way out there on the same car. That car could get swapped to a different train a few times along the way though. I would imagine it will change in Chicago for sure.

It goes by rail to Cottage Grove, MN which is a suburb of the Twin Cities. Then it goes by truck to my dealer in Sioux Falls, SD.

Just found out from my Dealer that my delivery date is 3/21. Both of ours were shipped on 3/10, you are 850 miles away while I am 180 miles away. And yet, my car is only going to arrive 1 day earlier than yours. Maybe they are pushing mine from Flat Rock!
