I don't know what that means in their context. Typically I associate hatchbacks with stiffer chassis and better handling than their sedan counter parts.

Anyway, I love hatchbacks, currently have 2 and my first Mustang was a hatchback.

Stupid comment by the author of an article that does nothing more than talk about someone else's review (Jay Leno.) Jay even talked about how he might prefer the Boss and would have a hard time deciding between them. Interesting comments on weight distribution.

The Shelby is amazing though. Tempting to have both.

Hmmm.... hard to decode without knowing this guy's inclination toward a 3 or 5 door car.

The author was clearly saying the that even the mighty Boss is rendered somewhat pedestrian by the fierce and extreme GT500. Wasn't a knock against the Boss, just a poorly chosen metaphor.

Love the Boss. Would choose it over the GT500 for a number of reasons-- and that's not a knock against the GT500, either : )

I assumed he meant the slightly-quicker-than-the-Shelby Ford Focus WRC. When I think of hatches, I think of crazy fast rally cars. Strange comment from an auto journalist, if he is such. ;-)

Also, I think sedans are inherently more stiff than hatches, because of the bulkhead behind the rear seats.
