No it is meant for pulling an extra 2-3 hp and not needing a tune

Hey, the drop-in is a "free" mod for most sanctioning bodies, whereas CAIs either bump you a class, or cost points, etc.. Nothing is minor to a racer looking for an edge :-)

Hey 2 hp from the filter, 5 hp from removing the side pipe discs and wow, you now have over 450 hp at the crank.

Is there any evidence of a gain from a drop in filter?

Not sure, but I'd be happy to do a back-to-back dyno test to compare...

Give Travis a call at Gearheads in Arlington, they're a solid shop.

Looks like we need to get a TX BOSS meet lined up sometime, there's a few of us on here.

it's amazing what a dyno graph can create

But, in there defense - you don't take on any points within TTA and as long as you don't lose power, it's worth a shot

TBH if the increase is really only 2-3hp, it might be within the normal range of run-to-run variation on a dyno. But I'm happy to be the guinea pig (unless someone else beats me to the punch).

I gained 33 rwhp and 32 rwtq with a Lund tune and JLT at evolution in March...3 months later I LOVE it, drives much snappier in the low to mid range and pulls like crazy to 7900-8000 rpm. Its at evolution now for some more mods!!
