I just read the press release on the revised engine for the Boss. Wow! I'm glad to see that Ford went thru the trouble of making sure this engine will live for the full durability cycle simulating race-track conditions. There is a lot more to this engine than just a new intake manifold and 28 additional HP. Now we will have to see what kind of real-world numbers these engines produce. We all know that the 412 rating on the GT engine was understated (375-390 whp) which equates to 430-450 at the crank assuming 15% driveline loss. Even Shaun's car with just a tune and CAI is now seeing 430 at the wheels which is 495 at the crank!

The red roof panel is a bit too much, but the red stripes and other red accents on black look good, IMHO.

It seems kind of odd they didn't go all white. The Boss 302r red car even had a white spoiler along with the white roof, stripes and hood. I would have to say black on the roof in either stripe color would have been preferable. I have to say I am shocked this isn't offered in Grabber Blue. It would have been a natural color. That said I think Race Red and black stripes will work the best from a retro perspective. I would have preferred the fogs in the grill since they were obviously going for the 69 look here.

On a separate note, the Ford media release said something about the Recaro seats that seems interesting...
"Standard Recaro front seats were designed by Ford SVT in cooperation with Recaro for high performance Mustang models, and are shared between the Boss and GT500."
Adding Recaros to the 2012 GT500?

I love my Bullitt, but I'd really like a Boss too! Comp Orange or Yellow Blaze I think. Trouble is how to convince my significant other. Hmmmmmm!
