I thought the same thing...why mess with the work of art under the hood? What started this rumor is that the 2012s and '69s do not have the scoop but the 70's Boss did...which lead to some speculation that the 2013 might get a scoop as Ford had mentioned the 2013 would be more a tribute to the '70 than the '69...or something to the effect.

 

I was looking at getting a new GT500 but my prayers have been answered for a 2013 '70 style Boss 302 after watching the program. That's gonna be a hell of a long wait. I hope I have the willpower to drive my truck exclusively till then....

So the 2013 Boss LS will be white/yellow or black/yellow.

Not really feeling it. I think the black/red from this year is better.

i love the original 1970 Boss 302, but i think i'd take a new one with the 69 stripes over the 70 stripes.

And a few minutes into the show if you slowed it down, you can see them build the Boss 302 engine frame by frame.

 

At 3:19 on the video posted earlier, noticed the black out treatment on the quarter windows. I believe we've seen them before on prototypes but do you think they might be used somehow. Its gives the window line of the orginal 69 and 70 models. Of course they would be done better then the ones in the video, but they look pretty neat.

 

Did you mean this segment of the program? I looked at it on the DVR, and I believe it is the reflection of the overhead lights on the black paint off the curvature of the powerdome. It looks like it at first glance though.

 

Yes, that's it. I don't think it is a reflection even though the showing was momentary.

The pic you should look for is when the white Boss is next to the simulated Grabber Green, more or less during the same time frame as during the pics you posted.
