B302 Brake Lines

Those of you guys who've tracked your car, or have experience in mustangs with stainless and factory non-boss rubber lines, what are your thoughts on the "low compressibility" ford brake lines on the boss 302?

I'm due for pads in my GT, and I'd like to do lines as well. The boss lines are less than half the cost of my favorite stoptech lines, but I was curious if they're worth bothering with.

I'm surprised ford didn't opt for stainless, but I remember reading somewhere there was a reason for it, yet I can't find it.

Have any of you B302 guys upgraded to stainless lines and felt improvement? Or did you find the lines ford gave you to be pretty competent pieces?

I put in Goodridge SS lines and have tracked it both ways. I prefer the SS lines because the pedal feel is better for me.

Easy -- cost. Same reason you're asking the question, right?

If you're gonna do the change at all, what's $100 on a $40k plus car?

Do you have the part# for the Goodridge SS lines that go on the B302?

We haven't found anything with a description listing Mustangs newer than 2010, so are they the #12364 that say for all Mustangs with ABS?

I dunno if DS2500s are going to be enough to stop this car properly. HPS definitely are not up to the task.

Might want to check out DS3000s for track use, if you're interested in Ferodos.

I meant for street use. I thought about the 2500s in case someone wanted a de ridealong around one of our local tracks but I'm getting a separate set of dtc70/60 and some blanks to go with the rcomps for more serious outings. My first of those is in september so I figure I have some time to set Capitol aside

I'm planning to be on-track with ProAutosports at the Mondo track at the end of September. Might hit a NASA event this year...otherwise just PASA events until end of year.

remind me and I'll go to that.

So far this summer/fall catalog for me is:

Laguna seca (will trailer mustang out and "break in" the conti slicks and pads)
Mondo with PASA (I'll try to calendar that)
FIR with NASA in August
Infineon in October on my 30th birthday (24 Hours of Lemons).

I still haven't touched my 944. Oi.

you guys must really drive the ****e out of the cars compared to what i was able to do. the stock brakes were not an issue, only the clutch fade on my outing. my instructor drove the first two laps my first session and told me he was going about 60% and we were hauling ****. by the end of the day i was pretty close to his 60% and we were moving about as fast as the stock tires could handle on that track in many places. the clutch issue where the pedal got mushy and stuck halfway up was more a deal for me. that was on stock fluid though. i had it pumped out and replaced with wilwood 650-degree dot 4 yesterday in prep for my next outing.

It's more of a feel thing to me. The modulation with SS takes a bit of getting used to.
