I personally have no interest in dump valves and wiring etc., others may but in my opinion there is a good sound to be found with a single set. The route I am taking with this is for people that want to install a set and forget about it, get a little sound without being overwhelming wide open. I started this because I figure they should be at least 20 other people that feel the same but one size does not fit all. The one thing most people agree on is 3/16 is way too small and there is little sound there.

If I can get this together and get a good price on them there is little to lose if people decide to change them later. I can ultimately cut a rough set of SS 20 gauge in the garage but would rather have a nice set of stamped out discs.
Isn't the stock size 5/16, not 3/16?

Scott- please count me in for a set, if my car ever arrives....

S197- what is your thought on the optimum size?

I liked 1/2" diameter, but have not driven anything but stock stuff in quite a while. If you're daring and want more "engine" sound, you can tune the IST, as well. The induction sound tube is most of what you're hearing (that's not exhaust...). Have fun!

OK, I spoke with Ford and was told they can be ordered at $15 each. I finally got a price on the ones I want to make at $9 each. I am going with these since they are stainless steel laser cut and they will have the bigger holes in them ready to go.

I will place an order in a couple of days for mine and anyone else that truly wants them, again this is not a business venture so I don't want/need extras. Figure US Mail anywhere from $3-5 and I would guess two sets would not make a big difference, so right around $25 at most but maybe less for a set shipped.

I am getting 3/4 and 7/8 cut and can have them made blank for 1/2, half is easy to drill out just use you original as a template. Drilling more then 1/2 is harder without the proper equipment. If there are a few that want one inch or bigger I guess that can be done, depends on how many.

Let me know soon.

Is it $9.00 or $18.00 per pair?

Are you saying anything above 1/2 is hard to drill with a regular drill?

I want between 1/2 & 3/4, so will need blanks unless your guy can cut me a pair.

$18 per pair and shipping, doubt 2 pairs would add any extra shipping. If there are enough people at 1/2 - I will ask and most likely can get them made at no extra cost but if so I would leave them blank since cutting 1/2 is pretty easy.

They did tell me if I ordered them with a much bigger order it would not save too much, pennies. The first place told me differently, so checking local shops near you would at least save any shipping costs.

Even if you said so before reply again, I will update the first thread, if there is a mistake there let me know

I am trying to keep it simple but will ask, I do not know if that will add any cost. Looks like the 1/2 inch can be cut if the 5/8 is a problem can you go with 3/4?

Looks like 1/2 3/4 will be popular and also 7/8. You want 3 sets? Better if you tell me exactly what you want

Scott,

I would like the 3/4 and blank (or if you cut 1/2 I'll get that). So two pairs. Let me know how much and how you'd like to be paid. Thanks for your work on this!

Yeah, 3 sets sounds good. Let's just limit it there for now. Don't care what sizes, whatever works out for you and makes some sense. My '64 Falcon convert has two chamber flowmasters and my '99 PowerStroke has a pretty free flowing exhaust so I'm likely to go loud!

I don't think 5/8 is a problem if you're getting them laser or water jetted. I used to get big stainless plates 3/4" thick water jetted. He could hold .030" through that thickness. That was a brutal part btw. We'd spend somewhere between $400 and $1500 each in burned up or broken carbide cutters and drill bits. Nothing like standing there on pins and needles for 14 hours each day with my hand ON the "slide hold" button... Good thing we charged a boatload of money for them!

You have a US Mailing address? I can/will help you out but I am sure the shipping will be more up that way. Plus I can't write in Canadian

Hi Scott,
Thanks for doing this!

I will buy a pair of 1/2" and 3/4".
Also, if it is possible, I would like a pair with no holes. I would like the option of modifying them to any hole size.

Thanks!
