I have all three of those. Skip the 1/2" and go for 3/4" or 7/8". I believe the 3/4" are the most popular. The ability to tune the sound to your liking is really a great feature of the Boss.

so is 3/4 or the happy medium..meaning louder exhaust but still able to hear engine and not having drone?

Is 7/8 getting close to no discs?

I loved the sound outside with no discs but couldn`t handle the noise inside and it took away to much engine sound for my liking.

Start with the 3/4. A neighbor of mine has the 3/4 and I have 7/8, both cars have GT500 axelbacks, and my car is louder. You can still hear the engine with either disc and no drone with any including wide open.

3/4 by far is the most popular. What you asked is exactly what I have found, 3/4 gives you a mix of exhaust note and engine sound . You can hear this while standing outside the car as it is coming toward you. They are not loud from inside the car, no problems listening to radio at all. The side pipes do not give you a drone, that is not due to anything special I have done with the discs, it is the way the guys at Ford engineered them. 1/2 sells well, 7/8, 5/8 are not far behind. I have always kind of pushed the 3/4 but the 5/8 disc is great sound and perfect for the people that still want to hear the engine scream when you get on it while opening the exhaust note from the stock discs.

I would not say the 7/8 is like running without discs, it cuts back nicely on the Jake Brake sound and the overall open exhaust sound. The one inch does performs the same way but that is closer to the open sound, you will still get the Jake noise but less then completely open. One inch sell the least of all sizes but the people who run them are happy.

Not knocking your product at all but I am happy running mine wide open. I'm used to straight pipe Harley's so that may be why

Just let me know, my email is below in my sig or PM me, don't order through ebay since that is more expensive.

No offense taken, you are not alone, this is why they make cars in different colors. I'm not a business and this was not started that way, it just grew because so many Boss owners like the different sound with this cheap and easy mod. I never even had the chance to hear mine with the factory plates because the dealer pulled them before I got there. I also liked the open sound at first, then after a few weeks I wanted to try something different.

I put a set of 3/4" holed discs in today and it sounds alot better. Louder but not over powering in the cabin and much better outside. I also have 7/8" that I may try sometime.

Thanks for the comments, I'm glad you are happy with them. The 7/8 is quite a bit different, while I like the 3/4 sound and personally think it is best, I have been running a set of 7/8 for a long time and like the extra exhaust note sometimes over the 3/4.

Scott, like to say thanks again for offering us this. It's great to have a few discs to go back and forth on.

Me too. That was such a cool experience, esp. for somebody whose total racing experience consists of lots of Iracing.

Man, it was awesome.

After 8 months of running with the side pipes open, I did the mature thing and bought the 5/8" discs from Scott and put them in this afternoon. The idle is still aggressive but the car is no longer obnoxious at 3500 RPMs and above. I'm very happy with the discs and their aggressive sound without being downright juvenile. Thanks, Scott.

I have tried 3/4, 5/8, and 7/8
here is my opinion on the said discs, YMMV as everyone`s hearing and tolerance to noise is different.

no discs, too bothersome inside..I couldn`t take it, Great sound outside

3/4 sounded really good outside, noisier than stock inside but in a good way and at highway speed bearable.

Swaped out to 5/8 to hear the difference. I noticed the sound right away when I started it at idle that it was not as aggresive sounding and also when driving around. It wasn`t much of difference inside. I really missed the extra exhaust sound when driving and at at idle of the 3/4.

7/8 too much noise for me inside, almost like no discs

3/4 winner for me, exhaust sounds killer with them. I can`t imagine how quiet it would be back to stock..lol..

Just wanted to share with y'all...I installed my 3/4" holed plates from Scott this evening. For such an easy install.....it really improves the sound...both inside and out. I would do this again in a heartbeat!

Also did the JLT oil / air seperator....Wow....maybe 1-2 minutes....and an extremely well built upgrade! I highly recommend it.

Sorry dude, my Paypal is linked to the email I don't use .

Got them yesterday. Nice work on the disc. Slipped right on no problems and the 3/4 hole seems to be perfect. I haven't driven it yet. Thanks for being understanding....

Great, you had me worried, glad you are happy. I do send out a shipping and tracking number but many people like yourself use a secondary email address for things like paypal and may not get the tracking number.
