Adding power seats?

I wonder how hard it would be to add power seats to the Boss? The SO has a bad back, and a power seat can really make a difference in her comfort. Yeah, yeah, I know it violates the spirit of the Boss, so no need to rag on that. But if I can make her more comfortable, she would appreciate it.

I'm sure the Boss seats will be in great demand, and you should have no problem trading someone their power seats for your manual Boss seats, plus some cash to you. Shouldn't be too difficult to wire up either.

I've never understood why people put so much value in power seats. Once I adjust my seat it will stay that way until my wife drives it. That may be all of three times per year.

I would want to keep the Boss seats, just add power tracks to them. I assume they're going to be the same seat as the base GT, with different covers. And Randy, not only did you not contribute anything to this thread, but you fail to realize that someone with a bad back can get some relief by being able to raise the front of the seat up.

Well, when your back is screwed up, you'll understand why they're more awesome than manual seats.

I'll leave it at that.

/has to have one.
//it sucks to have a need, because it means it's permanent. Dang it.

Yeah I don't understand tha value of power seats. There's no need to jump all over me about it. Do Ford manual seats not allow the same adjustments as their power seats?

Power seats ain't cheap and for the vast majority of people they adjust their seats maybe a few times a year so it's not a good value for most imo.

I believe the manual seats are still height adjustable, just manually, not power. Adding power tracks to manual seats could be moderately difficult if you get the base seats, or very difficult if you get the Recaro option.

OT,, just a little or maybe not-

Are Recaros more comfortable than stock seats or are they all about clamping you in for spirited driving and therefore, not practical/comfortable for every day driving?

I'd rather have Recaros than mushy seats anyday. For me support and structure=comfort.

since the Recaros are supposed to be available for the GT500 as well, there will be power versions available. Otherwise you will have to get the seat bases out of another car and swap over the cushions. The power harness will very likely be there under the carpet for you to connect to.

Wait until November when they release the Order Guides for the 2012s.

At this point there is tons of speculation as to what will and will not be available on the Boss (EP, power seats, etc) but no actual confirmation yet. Power seats may still be an option.

It's not a height issue. It's a tilt issue. Don't think the manual height also does tilt of the base, but hey, I could be mistaken 'bout that.

less options for me the better if they-ford- could have a radio delete and that stupid ugly antenna removed in the back i would scrap it in less than a second! no comfort allowed. so recaro manual seats for me .anyway who will it drive it for more than hum..3 ,4, 5 hours?? only at vacation time.. the fact that i would and will have the boss it's because it can go 1.0G and that's what i like.

Most of the components are the same, you can get a use power seat and swap the track, wire harness, lumbar, side cover, and lower cushion but the lower seat cover (Driver side) is also different and you need one specific to a power seat otherwise the hole where the manual height adj was shows.

I kinda like the seats without power, I just grab the release bar and slide it completley back before and after I get out, Trying to keep the wear down on the seats edges.
