I think the media already knows. Hence the autoblog post. They're just keeping their traps shut. I can wait a couple more days. Not like I'm getting one anyways haha.

And Mark, no harm done. I'm not a Bullitt/Mach owner, but I will be some day. I think we all got the point you were making. You just used the wrong references. It happens.

I am hoping to be!

One thing I forgot to mention about the intake manifold. If it is expected to become an official "Ford Racing" part, that would diminish the appeal a bit. However, I understand, based on the business climate, that might be an economic reality in order to amortize the development and manufacturing costs.

Another thing that way make the grade in my book are wheels that are styled based on Boss heritage and lighter weight than stock GT wheels, as opposed to a reapplication of the SVT Performance package ones for the GT500.

The countdown continues, and we shall see.

I think what Mark was trying to say was the GT/CS is the stripe/wheel package that people always scoff at. Nothing more than an appearance package for those of you who want it.

After driving the 05-09 and the '08 Bullitt, you can definitely tell a difference. The Bullitt was the way the car should have come from the factory in '05. The Mach 1 was also a pretty well designed car, but a much more subtle upgrade. The interior was lacking a bit, and aside from the shaker, stripes, and wheels, you couldn't tell much.

The Boss is just going to take the concept that the Mach/Bullitt started one step further. You'll see that Friday.

I realize everyone is a little on edge with anticipation, but I meant no harm.
Specifically on the Mach 1 and Bullitt, the intakes were re-worked on the engines. The intake cam on the Mach 1 engine was different than the previous 4-valve engine on which it was based. A shaker scoop induction system was engineered first for the car, not as an aftermarket accessory.

To me, it is those things that go beyond "trim bits" and springs. Also, from what is being hinted and rumored here, it would appear the Boss would capture that essence and hopefully include more.

Maybe Ford is playing this one a bit differently....newswise

By comparison, Id say the Bullitt was propped up GT, and the Mach1 was a solid axled 01 cobra...by comparison that this SE is more its own vehicle.....=
Put THAT in yer pipe and smoke it

Well said Pete.

So instead of a teaser trailer, this is a total blindside.

As a fellow Orange County resident I disagree :-) The crappy roads around here take a toll on my 07 GT's log-axle. These cars can pull almost a G on a smooth skid pad and stop on a dime, but you can't change the fact a mid-turn bump/groove in the road sends the rear axle flying.

Of course on a smooth road course this wouldn't be a problem for the BOSS.

It sounds like you're in serious need of a Watts Linkage. The difference is amazing when compared to a panhard bar!

This is all great news, but when I say this and I'm sure most everyone would agree I would rather see a Mach 1 but there is room for both so I'm still hoping FORD brings the Mach 1 back and real soon

Here is a question for you all:

I will be ordering my Mustang GT in the Nov/Dec timeframe for a delivery of Feb 2011. However now that all this Boss302 information is coming out and I am liking what I am hearing so far and will have it confirmed Friday I am really leaning towards this car instead of a GT.
I work from home 100% and drive between 5-7k miles a year with my current car. I feel confident I could get this car for a good price from Jeff without all the markups etc however I haven't confirmed that .

so what would you all pick? Of course the real decision will be based on when this Boss will be available to order and when production starts.

I really want the BOSS!!!
