S550 SVT Mustang caught on video 9/17/13
C&D has a new batch of photos up, and one caught my attention:

Carbon brakes are being tested! Woo! Also not a 295 TIRE on the FRONT.

Well unless somebody has a had a breakthrough in CC brake manufacturing and is producing them at a small cost over more traditional brake rotor materials.
I read on a different forum that Roush has had their hands on the new mustang already and that a few wrapped cars have been seen in and around the Roush factory. This might just be a prototype of their exhaust and not actually a stock exhaust. I can't see Ford releasing a vehicle this loud with all the different state laws concerning noise levels......but what do I know.
Maybe this has been mentioned before but...
Looking at some hi-res shots on another site, I see there is a yellow sticker on the windshield that says 302W678
I'm assuming that is the 5.0 engine in this model but not sure what the W678 would indicate. Anyone have any guesses or any inside info on Ford number-speak?
On second look it looks like 302W628 not W678. Hmm.... W628 for a Z28 competitor?

This is no different than the old "TT" car that everyone thought was a twin-turbo prototype. It's nothing special other than an ID on the engineering car. I'm pretty sure they go in sequential order.
oh without a doubt lol just sayin let the man dream! or crush them whichever you prefer.
Axel backs have twin outlets. Cool sound.
Looks like it's all about the mufflers.
I like how they get on it quite a bit in this video. Intended for sure IMO.

Car and driver says that this car is not a GT-350 but it is a GT-500. They say that there will still be GT-500s in the future and there will also be-GT-350s. The GT-350 will replace the BOSS 302 but there will still be GT-500s! They also said that SVT was able to somehow stuff the trinity 5.8L into the car and that is why it sounds a lot like the current GT-500. If this is true I am having a wet dream. New body style, independent rear end, up market design quality, high tech and the trinity engine ( All hail The Father, The Son and The Holy Ghost!) If this is true I will buy one and be in Mustang Heaven and thumb my nose at all the haters that snubbed the new car and said they were glad they bought 2014s MEH!

I'm not but that code does mean something that those inside Ford know what it stands for. The 302 is obvious. W628 could be anything, a body style, an engine combo or just a plain old test mule number. Just checking to see if we have any members here who may be able to decipher the code to shed some more light on this model. And of course it could just be a ruse as well.

Just to follow up I also notice that the shots of the "topless" mule without the front padding and camo last month appears to have maybe a 184W???. Too hard to tell as the shots aren't as high res as these most recent and the roof padding obscures the sticker on the windshield as well. If that is the case that would work out to some 3.0 liter engine which makes no sense I admit. So it very well could just be some random code but again any Ford fan or knowledgable car fan will get the significance of 302, seems more than coincidence. Not much else to do but make guesses until Ford gives the order for the '15 to strip.
