Rubber strip from the lower air dam flew off...any hope of a warrenty replacement?

So today I heard something hit the bottom of my car while on the highway and didn't think anything of it...sure enough I decided to take a look when I got home and the rubber deflector hanging off of the front lower air dam is missing. It's that little piece of S curved rubber hanging down off of the front of the lower valance...

I have no idea what happened, but I'm guessing that whatever holds it together came loose and it flew off at highway speed...not sure if I'll be able to find it tomorrow if I go back and look, I'm sure that it had to have been the thud that I heard.

Anyway...do you think this could be classified as a craftsmanship/parts failure and replaced by warranty? I'm guessing that I'd need to replace the whole lower air dam as opposed to just getting another rubber strip.

So mad...I didn't notice anything weird about it the last time I washed my car recently and don't think that I did anything to it personally. Just weird and bad luck I guess...might have been loose but still in place and finally decided to give.

Lol, no. Stuff like that is usually ripped off when pulling out of a parking space or scraped on a hill, and that's probably what the dealership will tell you. This is an insurance issue, not a warranty issue. And it's likely not worth paying a deductible, so you'll probably be paying out of pocket if you want to fix it.

Also...Perhaps whatever you hit is what knocked it off...

What he said. But it doesn't hurt to ask. Dealers are different. Some want to please the customer and might go to bat with Ford or eat it if there is NO evidence of any impacts and suspect loose or missing fasteners. Slim chance, but it does happen.
