So I found the dreaded hood corrosion... and Ford agreed to fix it. Luckily I was 500 miles away from the expiration of my warranty.

The issue I have is my custom stripes. I have vinyl hood stripes and Ford is saying they won't replace the aftermarket addition.


Am I SOL? Or has anyone come up with something similar and gotten Ford to reimburse the expense?

I don't think they owe you for something that wasn't done at the factory.

 

This is correct. This is why all mods are a 'buyer beware' while under warranty

 

I have had a few things like this before. First off Mustangs are to be personalized. With that said it Ford Built the Car right this would of not happened. I have successfully argued this several times to 2 manufactures. They are going to have to repaint the hood. It's not much to add the stripes. I had a 2006 with this issue. It took them 3 times just to match the original color Good luck

 

Be happy you're getting the hood fixed and that the corrosion didn't get blamed on your aftermarket mods. You're on your own for aftermarket stuff.
