So both my car and my wife's car (the '08 Mazda3s in my sig) are over 90K miles now, and will both be at 100K by the end of summer probably. Because of that (and because of the rebates on Monroe and awesome sale price on Konis), I've been thinking I should replace all four on both the cars. I'm not seeing any leaking, excess bouncing or any of the tell-tale signs of completely blown units, but both cars are still rolling on their factory ones too.

So question is - is it worth spending the $1,000 or so on everything I'll need to do both jobs, strictly from a stock performance standpoint? I know the yellow Konis kick *** but not looking to drop that kind of $ just for an upgrade unless the stock ones are actually worn out. Reading different opinions online, it seems like if you sell dampers, you say replace between 50 and 80K. If you don't sell them, you say wait until at least one goes bad.

Replace them now while you can afford it. As shocks and struts wear, their performance gradually degrades and you won't notice it until they blow or you replace them. The Koni STR't is a good replacement for street use and is far superior to stock. I would also consider the Steeda Pro Actions. Happy Modding!!! As for your wife's car, also look at KYB shocks and struts. I've had good luck with them and your wife will thank you. Happy wife, happy life! (I've been married 33 years!)

 

I actually just dropped the coin on the Koni Sports (Yellows) that are sitting in the Garage now and the Vogtland springs should be here today or tomorrow. My car has 60,000 on it and although the suspension feels OK I have noticed a drop off in the Accelerometer so I am going through it.
Like Lon said, if you can afford it now do it, and although not adjustable the SRT.T's were awesome on my 2010.
