You can have it in any color as long as it's black. Ford if you're paying attention, Make it, GIVE me one.

What is the reason Ford will not bring back the Boss 429.
Ford has brought just about every mustang back except the Boss 429.
Does any one know if this might happen.

When was the last time you saw a 429?
Think about it.

My thought exactly, unless ford had a nice pushrod V8 laying around that was competitive with the LS and Hemi V8s while meeting drivability and emissions requirements as that would be about the only way somebody would see an actual honest 7 liter V8 in a Mustang.

The SOHC and DOHC stuff available from Ford right now wouldn't package very well in the new car in displacements larger than 5.0-5.5 liters (if the Voodoo 5.2-5.4 story is correct).

Although Ford could always try some sort of clever twist on the Boss 429 by offering destroked 5.0 that displaced 4.29 liters and revved to moon and/or offered some sort of forced induction.

Unfortunately in my mind that certainly wouldn't be a Boss 429

Now THAT would be cool. It wouldn't go over so well with the hard-core traditionalists, but a lot of people would find such an engine very desirable. Expensive, but desirable.

Well if not the Boss 429.
How about the Boss 351.
Could Ford consider this bad boy.
It's been since 1971 that the Boss 351 was last released.

the hurricane was designed to be 7 litre capable... I still think it could happen- but not likely.

In the new Mustang definitely not gonna happen, it seems people were saying it was more of a length issue with the hurricane more so than width with the current car at least from an assembly line and crash worthiness stand point.

Would have been nice to have seen a big ol' seven liter V8 in the Mustang though.

That engine has a lot of set-back, the 6.2 motor has a 102mm bore on 115mm bore spacing compared to the coyote's 100mm spacing and 90.2 bore.

Asking why Ford won't build a Boss 429 again is like asking Cadillac why they haven't brought back the 572ci V8 - it's kind of unnecesary.

1970 Mustang Boss 429
429ci/375hp, 4spd, 4.56, 0-60 - 5.3, 1/4 mile - 12.3 @ 112mph

2013 Mustang GT
302ci/420hp, 6spd, 3.73, 0-60 - 4.3, 1/4 mile - 12.7 @ 111mph

And don't forget the 2013 GT probably get's double or triple the MPG's!

As for the Boss 351 - maybe. 351ci is 5.75186 liters so could they bring the 6.2L down to that? IDK

Ford needs to include T-Pain in the process.
