Is performance pack a must?

I just installed the strut tower brace on my '17 GT.
Side note about that, the weight of it has now lowered my front end enough that the brights actually do something. Before, dims were bright enough, and the brights were used if I wanted to see what the tops of trees looked like as I was driving by.

Didn't seem that heavy, but i think the box said 20-25 lbs shipped. its two pieces. the strut brace and the firewall brace.I didn't think it would make much difference, but it was very noticeable on where the headlights were hitting afterwards. And I suppose all that weight is sitting right on the shocks.
Before the brace I was thinking the headlights were aimed up a little too high. Now its perfect.

My answer to the O.P. question.
Depends on what you are coming from. I drove mostly in line 4's up until my V6. So to me the V6 at 305Hp seems like a V8, especially since the HP is up there (or higher) that V8's I drove in the distant past. Now if I were to get into a 2018 V8 I certainly would know the difference, but until I do I can remain blissfully ignorant.
That being said the performance pack is like the difference between 305 Hp and 460 Hp (in a way). Sure the latter is so much beyond what is normal in an everyday car you can't get past the feeling. Same with handling, but when, if ever would you use that power/handling? For daily driver use my V6 premium is more than satisfying and still has the ability to get me in trouble should I choose to do so. I can get much closer the the enjoyable limits of the car as is. If I had more power and the performance pack as well, I would never see those limits outside of a track. And driving as close to the limit with that power/performance is probably beyond my capabilities as a driver anyway.

I just purchased my 2018 gt with the performance package this weekend. This is my first gt ever. I have no plans on tracking it honestly I bought just because I love the way the car looks and since it's the only gt I have ever driven I cant compare it to anything. But the car handles great.I got out the door for 35,550 and I thought that was a great price.Thats just my two cents.Oh and I do plan on tinting the windows and putting black badges on the car and that's it.

Thanks for all the replies guys. Sorry I didn’t come back sooner. I never got any notifications anyone else replied to this thread. Will have to figure out what’s going on with that.
Anyway, the Mustang shopping got put on hold while we were looking for a replacement for our old rusting super duty. We finally started looking again and almost got an immaculate 1300 mile 401a performance pack with magneride. That one got bought from under us though. Been talking to another dealer about a leftover 18 demo with 4K miles, 401a, auto, active valve, safe&smart, shaker pro, 20” wheels. We haven’t seen it yet but it looks pristine in pics. Going to look at it tomorrow. Hope it’s as nice as it looks in the pics since it’s a 5.5 hour drive. There are just no verts with any options near us, used or new.

I say the PP1 is better looking to start with and for what you get for the money I would say it was worth it. Yes the low mileage tires are a bit of a drag but the handling they offer I think is worth it. Would you still have a blast on the track with a non PP car? I would say yes just as much fun.

As someone who debated PP1 or not, I ended up getting a ‘19 Bullitt which has the PP1 parts and mine also has Magneride.
The only thing I’m not thrilled with is the brake dust from the Brembos so if I had to clean those PP1 wheels, that would suck. The Bullitt wheels are a little easier to clean Otherwise I think if I went regular GT I still would’ve gotten PP1, the tires and brakes are great!

yeah the Brembo pads are very dusty . . . you can change them out for other pads to reduce the dust, probably also compromise the performance a little, which should not be an issue on the street
