No V6 premium?
I'm unaware of any fake engine noise. BMW plays an engine soundtrack over the car's speakers in their M division cars. Now that's fake engine noise. But the noises made by all the Ecoboost engines are made by the engine. That by definition makes them real.
Now Ford has designed a way for the engine noise to make it's way in to the cabin while keeping other noise out, but that doesn't make it fake. And the Ecoboost will have active noise cancellation to drown out the undesirable noises, but that still doesn't make it fake.
So I'm curious as to what fake noise you are referring?

I saw a review talking about the new 2.7 Ecoboost (F-150 and new Edge) and said it was a 4 cylinder when it's most definitely a V6.
I guess we'll just have to wait and see when forum members get their cars and report back.
Okay, I am not the biggest EcoBoost fan myself, but requiring Premium (which it doesn't, it's recommended though) is hardly a deal breaker. All of you should be putting Premium in your car ANYways. Because Mustang.
Well as I said I was unaware of it. Though it wouldn't be the first time a review got some details wrong.

BTW: they have now figured out how to disable, but it also makes the radio not work

Try looking at other Mustang forums, they talk about the "Fake" eco engine noise that is put threw the speakers.

My plan is to test drive the car and if whatever noise is in the cabin does not annoy me, then I'll get the car. For me it doesn't really matter what makes the noise. (That said I would prefer natural over artificial just from a principle stand point). I'll be leasing the car so won't be modifying it.
Why, the V6 does not use an adaptive tune. It is designed to use 87 octane. Using 93 would not only be a waste of money it would also result in no change in the performance.
Correction on that last. It does use an adaptive tune up to the timing advance. Probably worth a few extra hp but not much. I'll try a tank full and let you know if it makes a noticeable difference.

I honestly would probably not notice if there was a performance bump or not from using my usual 87 octane to 93.
when I'm feeling like i want to drive and have a little bit of fun, the car skates around regardless in first and second.... doubt i could really drive any differently where I'd notice the difference...
Would be nice to know for sure though if there was an adaptive tune for the V6. this is the first I'm hearing about it.
