I would expect the GT350 to have a dedicated engine sharing only major architecture with the standard 5.0 but a good many things different as befits an SVT product.

Ford was able to offer great value with the 5.8 trinity (which was a very low volume engine they made a good business case for) it would be a shame if the follow up motor was anything less.

My hunch is installing the CMCV's freed them to enhance the higher rpm power band without worrying about loss of low end torque/emissions - because the CMCV's take care of the low/mid rpm band.
That would also explain the mid-lock phasers on the intake cam sprockets. They in essence have one cam advance (retard) profile for lower rpm torque/emissions that work with the butterflies closed/partially closed, and another cam advance profile for top end hp where the butterflies are wide open.

Just a hunch...
So my post was to indicate that FORD "DID" upgrade the internals of the 2015 Coyote engine. Whether the GT350 will have a supercharged Coyote is just speculation on the street. Essentially the new Coyote has much of the capability of the BOSS 302 engine. Whether SVT does something really special should be known this summer. Whether FORD would do something special to accommodate a few "German sales" seems questionable. Alan Mullaly is a pretty strong business man.

Where are the sequential tail lamps? I hope that the final production model will have them, because this prototype sure as hell doesn't have them.

Chill. Say it with me. Pro-to-type.
I believe they are computer controlled and can probably be turned on/off in the coding. In this case...off.

I remember from reading about the sequentials, they are only for NA. Globally they may not be allowed.

I just received the April 2014 issue of Car & Driver mag with the new Mustang GT350 on the cover. If C&D has the correct image of the new GT350, that is going be one nice looking Mustang. I hope the new GT350 looks exactly as C&D presents it. The hood is just drop dead gorgeous. The big white stripes look awsum. They also mention the voodoo engine in the article inside the mag. I could see a Race Red GT350 parked in my garage alongside my 2014 GT500.Also, C&D says there are going to be functional front fender vents behind the front wheels.

When was the last time C/D got anything right other than spelling their own magazine title?

I have seen the cover of the Car and Driver with their idea of the Shelby GT350 on it. We all have a good idea about what it will look like and from the spy pics I think there will be a hood scoop as depicted in the picture. I also think that 550hp is a reasonable number but from all the videos posted the engine does not sound like a flat plane crank engine. I think it is a Coyote based engine unless they are going to throw us a major curve and will put another engine in it from what they are testing now but it is doubtful. As for me I plan on buying a GT350 but I dont think it will be available this year. As long as they don't strip it out like Camaro does with the Z-28 and it has all the gizmos then 550hp is plenty for me.

They nailed the C7 Corvette way before anyone else.

No, jalopnik nailed the C7, and then everyone else based their renders off those

I know you posted the C&D cover picture on a previous post. I was not trying to steal your thunder. I was just letting everyone know I received my copy of that particular issue and expressed my joy at how awsum the new GT350 looks in person on the cover of C&D.
If Ford does not use the niche line to produce the 550 plus horsepower engine for the GT350, just think how many more GT350 Mustangs than GT500 Mustangs could be produced per year. Maybe the base price could be held down so more enthusiasts could own one.

My god that Nissan's ugly on the cover, reminds me of a modern day Opel Gt. If the GT350 (I could care less what they call it) is as C&D forecasts I'm a 100% owner. Scott

Cool

I am relieved the new Mustang did not come out looking like that Nissan. Kind of feel sorry for Nissan.

That...is a rendering. It's not real. It might be pretty accurate, but it is *not* from Ford.

Doesn't look right with the pony emblem in the grille. Hopefully that will be changed.
