Leaked front end photos 10/7/13

Maybe it's just me but it looks like the upper grill opening on this car is bigger than the car we saw before at the track. And we see the rear view mirrors uncovered finally!

Someone claiming some insider knowledge on the 6g site says this is an older shot of the newer style nose grafted onto the older body. Looking at it I would tend to agree. Some things just don't match up. I think this one is a "red herring". At least I hope so.

Here is what I think. I think that car is prototype of the alleged 1000 2014.5 50th anniversary cars. If what I have read is true about the limited run of 1000 cars, there needs to be some differentiation between the reggy 14 and the 50th anniversary, to call it a 2014.5. The car looks to be the same width as the current car, and looks no smaller, no wider, and no narrower. I think the rear view mirrors may even be the same ones as are on my 2013 Boss 302.
Also, if the above is true, then the pics we have seen of the cars that alleged;y show the front end of the 15s, may be no more than 2014.5s, which are 2014s, with a different front end.
I still have my 1985 Mustang GT on which I had put an 85.5-86 SVO front end. Several parts needed to be changed, but the front end of course bolted right up. Also, ford has changed the front "clip" on the car several times and for different models.
I do not think this is the new Mustang. I think it will look very much like the Evo. Also, someone working on the new Mustang I met recently would only tell me that the car will be introduced on January 7, 2014, which I believe is the Detroit Auto Show.

I have to agree though, we see this one has the roof covered, which seems odd. It's such a crappy picture that it's hard to tell much from anything behind the front clip.

I saw that post as well, which could hold some truth to it.

Somebody who could get that close to the car could get much better photos.
Somebody who could get that close to the car knows enough not to get so much of the building in the photos that it's a dead give away where it was taken and thus shortening the list of suspects to a precious few.
Somebody who can get that close to the car would likely be losing his job for this.
Unless of course, it's intentional. Then it all makes sense.

I think Ford is just evaluating grille designs for cooling effect. The grille pictured probably is most likely the one not selected for production. A few Ford engineers probably just having fun with the public.

1) Those are definitely NOT the same mirrors that are on your BOSS or any other current gen Mustang. They are identical to the ones shown in the first batch of front fascia pics from the track testing session. Notice the mounting location: they are the same Shrek-ear style mirrors mounted from the door, and not the corner of the window. Follow the hood line back and you should see what I'm referring to.
2) Even if your theory about the 2014.5 being it's own 'model' was true(which doesn't hold a lot of weight considering existing reports that the 2014.5 will be a limited run of the 2015 MY car), the photos contradict that. The limited view of the engine bay in the 2nd photo matches what is shown in early mule shots of the narrower engine bay. No sir, this is indeed a new Mustang.
