Full body camo mule spotted
as much as i'd like to think that this is a S550 engineering mule, i pretty much think that is part of their well orchestred marketing plan to get the exaltation at it's peak.

Judging by the height of the front end, I don't think it even has a motor in it. I'd say it's just an s197 that was used for engine testing, or various other bits and pieces.
Also isn't that the front bumper sitting on the ground in front of it?

My guess, an S197 based engineering mule with perhaps some S550 elements at the front for engine/cooling testing and whatnot. As noted, ala the positioning of the rear brake calipers, this is probably just the current log axle S197 platform for the most part. The engine has probably been pulled, hence the 4X4 stance.
That may well be a fender vent, indicating an actual S550 fender clip, so that one element might be the only one truly indicative of the actual 2015 Mustang, which might hint of some Ford Kinetic Design V.2, ala the Taurus.
As for the cover, perhaps one off of a S550 mostly for whatever cutouts there are in the front. It does seem a touch tight for the S197 dimensions which would explain why the rear light cutouts are pulled up so high (no, the S550 rear lights will not be pulled into the upper lip area.)

This was my first thought... S197 being used for engine testing..
I sure hope they don't plan on moving it that way, what with one of the bungy cords passing through the front wheel spokes. Or maybe they did and that's why the bumper cover is on the ground. Or is that a snow plow? The whole thing was probably staged just to see what kind of reaction it would get.

Why wouldn't there be a chance at a vert ? Ford can offer a full fastback as the coupe model while also offering the vert, as the rooflines between the current coupe and vert are pretty much different body styles anyhow !

How is that crazy talk ? Ford can offer both a full fastback as the coupe model and also have the convertible as well.. Back in the Fox days we had 3 body styles, Notchback coupe, Hatchback and Convertible.. As I said in my previous post, Ford can offer the full fastback as the only coupe model along with the Convertible.. I didn't say anything about not having a Convertible whatsoever.. What I clearly stated is Ford can offer a Full fastback and Convertible without having to use 3 different body styles !

But it's not a Full Fastback Joseph ! As your fully aware the full fastback has a sloping roofline that extends completely back to the decklid ala (67-73) Our coupes or fastbacks of today are similar to the (65-66) 2+2 fastback which had a horizontal decklid.. Personally, I would like to see a modern version of the 67-70 full fastback, as not only would such a design stand out from the Camaro and Challenger, but would also be totally fresh and different as well..

Most definitely I want to see a retro/modern version full fastback without trying to copy the original 67-70 design, but by no means do I want it to resemble anything like a Hyundai Genesis coupe.. The design has to look completely Mustang.. Think of the 2009 1/2 Iacocca silver 45th anniversary edition Mustang as a perfect example !

I too would love for S550 to become a full fastback.
Take a look at these patent drawings (thanks Jalopnik) for the F-Type coupe. What a fantastic roof line. It can be done.
