Fuel cap lock
Fuel cap lock
Has anyone found a lock to their fuel tank? I know the previous generation of Mustang had an aftermarket fuel cap that could be locked. My office is unfortunately in.... well, downtown Montgomery, and sometimes I take a work vehicle overnight on trips. We have security, but you know how useful they can be. The wheel locks are on, but would love to find a fuel lock somehow. Thanks in advance.

I have seen locking plugs. Where? Not sure but I stumbled on them once browsing around. Maybe try a Google search...they may be right at your local auto store...you never know.
NO- there is NO available locking cap for the '15. I have looked under and behind every rock I could find. I think Ford really dropped the ball with the final design of the gas filler! I think ALL modern vehicles should have the ability of to lock the fuel cap, but that's just me.
I should be picking mine up this week, and I can ask to try one from the parts department. Unless they changed the cap from the previous capless system, I do not see why the 2014 model one would not work. It works on all other Ford cars with the capless system. Another option if you don't want to wait would be to see if your local dealer has the one for all other years/models. Ask to make sure it fits before buying it as it should only take a second.
Capless Fuel Filler System Locking Fuel Plug
Edit: A few cars on the compatibility list do show it works for the 2015 model, but the Mustang is not one of them. Maybe it is in need of an update, or maybe they did change the system on the Mustang for 2015.
Another option possibly would to see if Steve@CJPP would be able to check the fit. They sell the part and it is listed for the 2010 to 2014 models. I am sure it wouldn't take much to test it on one of the Mustangs they have that they are making videos of parts installs on.

I can tell you, with certainty, that plug will not work. I had one on my 2013 SHO and was going to move it to the 2015 EB, no go. Ford has completely redesigned the fuel filler and there are no locking plugs available.
It really pi$$es me off, since even my wife's '15 Jeep Cherokee has an electronic locking gas door. What was Ford thinking in this day and age. I am not concerned with gas thieves, but vandals, especially while traveling.

I'm thinking ford either: Doesn't care, and wanted to save money, or thinks every Mustang will spend it's entire life never out of sight of the owner or locked in a garage when it's not moving. Either way, the only way to do it would be to replace the filler neck or drill a hole in the filler door and add a old school tumbler lock.
Anyone at Silver Horse Racing listening?
We all know these things won't stop a determined vandal or thief, but it does cause the average vandal/thief to move along and not take the time to by pass the plug or door.
