Ford Mustang sales Leap ahead of other sporty cars
Ford Mustang sales Leap ahead of other sporty cars
My thoughts on the stuff below. I am seeing the car everywhere now! Its becoming a hot little car that seems to be selling like hot cakes. I will see multiple different ones daily mostly the ecoboost/v6's as i can't tell them apart from a distance. But nice to see it doing well!

Proving once again that the key to sales is a hot new model, Ford is finding huge success so far with its new-generation Mustang, while others in the sporty-car category languish.
Ford saw a 36.1% sales increase in March compared to the same month the year before on its new 2015 Mustang, moving 12,663 of them. For the first three months of the year, the increase is even more startling: 52.1% to 29,811, Autodata reports.
At the the same time, Mustang's archrival, Chevrolet Camaro, saw its sales drop 30.9% in March to 29,811. Camaro is now an aging model, with a replacement not due to be seen until later this year. In past year, before the new-gen Mustang, Camaro often beat the pony car in the monthly rankings.
The other contender in the category, Dodge Challenger, also saw a big sales increase, up 25.2% in March with 5,956. Dodge created new excitement around the existing Challenger by introducing a 707-horsepower Hellcat version.
And the car could get a nice boost in interest in April thanks to appearance in "Furious 7," the latest in the "Fast and Furious" movie franchise.

So Chevy sold the same number of outdated Camaros as Ford's brand new Mustang?

In March 2015 – a month in which many areas of the United States is still getting fresh snow – Ford sold 12,663 examples of the 2015 Mustang.
Mustang Crushes Camaro
While record sales numbers for the 2015 Ford Mustang are good, what makes the March sales numbers even better is the fact that they came in a month where the Camaro saw incredibly low figures. GM sold just 5,956 Camaro coupes and convertibles last month, trailing the Mustang by over 6,700 units.

The Challenger beat out the Camaro in March for the first time. With the new interior and the addition of the Scat Pack model they are selling like crazy! Now, I'm sure some potential Camaro buyers are waiting for the new car to show itself in May as well but those new Scat Packs are crazy fast for the money with 12.1 sec 1/4 mile times and 4.1 sec 0-60 times! Worried about Ford for when the new lighter (by 200 pounds) Camaro comes out with the 450hp LT1 engine… Ford will be at the bottom of the performance heap for the average Joe. C'mon Ford, help us out!

This is most certainly great news indeed
I also feel pretty confident the 2015 Mustang will have it's best year in sales since the 2005-06 model year and after seeing the latest spy photos of the new 2016 Camaro ! The Mustang has nothing to worry about to say the very least

Of the 2015's the 4 banger and V6's are the ones I'm seeing.

1] The Mustang has the advantage of being much lighter in weight..
2] S550 is an all new platform from top to bottom, sleeker and wider.. Challenger on the other hand, hasn't had a major makeover since it's re-introduction over 7 years ago and is therefore becoming stale and boring..
3] When the GT350 arrives, the Scat Pack won't stand a chance of topping it except for the Hellcat, however the GT350 vs the Hellcat is an unfair comparison anyhow being as the Hellcat is FI and the GT350 is N/A..
And after seeing the latest spy photos of the 2016 Camaro, both the Mustang and the Challenger won't have any problem beating down the bowtie

Definitely positive news for Ford and mustang sales. Glad to see they are going in a positive direction and I have been seeing a few more on the road. That rear end is still fugly as hell and would never ever ever buy one looking like that but glad to hear their selling. Keep up the good work Ford.

Really ??? perhaps the GM fanboys haven't seen the latest spy photos
from what I've seen, the 2016 is more of a slightly cosmetic re-fresh than a completely all new model, despite being on GM's lighter Alpha platform..
Therefore if sales are down due to the anticipation of the 2016 unveiling next month ? Then sales are going to really plummet after the reveal
With that said, the Mustang has nothing to worry about and will continue to do real well in sales

The Challenger may have beat out the Camaro for the very first time, however it has not beat out the Mustang and it won't despite its new Scat Pack and here's why..

2] S550 is an all new platform from top to bottom, sleeker and wider.. Challenger on the other hand, hasn't had a major makeover since it's re-introduction over 7 years ago and is therefore becoming stale and boring..

When the 2016 hits I wonder how many people will think it was just refreshed and not an entirely new car. The hardware is going to be good but I think GM should have made a break with the current styling rather than evolve it over the new chassis.
