Latest word was that the Camaro vert will be available 1st quarter of 2011 and the Z/28 was on hold again. We might see some Camaro concepts and tuners in Detroit, but I bet that's all.

Well the head of Chevrolet just got canned today. That company is in disarray.

Probably even GM doesn't know what "the plan" is since they've fired alot of key people lately. The fired people I guess knew what the "plan" was but perhaps their replacement may want to change the "plan"????

Well, that goes without saying. Executives build their resumes by shaking things up. You can't expect a new executive to continue with a previous exec's plans any more than you'd expect an NFL coach to run the previous coach's playbook. It just isn't done.

Which goes far in explaining Ford lately.

The way I see it Gov Motors is in survival mode right now and Ford is moving into the kick *** and take no prisoners stage. GM has more important things to worry about than upstaging the Mustang.

I agree with you. g.m.'s main people even admitted they made sub-par cars through most of the 1990's. I wonder why Tiger Woods wasn't driving a Buick when he hit the tree. After being paid millions of dollars saying Buick is the greatest.........He drives a Caddy s.u.v. LOL!!!

I doubt it matters, there are already kits from Livernois and LG that will put down over 500 at the wheels w/ just a cam on the LS3. That engine is a beast.

THis years DAS is going to be about Green, FTH. Muscle cars are not even on the grid unless they make 30 MPG.

Even if they improve on the LS3, I am still not going to buy a car that I cannot see out of...

Of course, for the average person it doesn't really matter.
It seems most people don't look to see what is going on around them anyway.

Ditto, loan woes aside, the F5 still hasn't been sold in enough numbers to free up development funds. Its effectively a brand new car with brand new car bills. IMO its going to be a bit before we see some worthwhile improvements in the F5, the vert and Z/28 have already been pretty much engineered. A serious counter to the coyote is going to be some time off.

Also, I can't see GM dumping alot of HP into an SS, to be honest no matter what the power to weight is, there is a big psychological barrier to cross when your talking nearly or right at 500hp. I remember reading some while back that insurance companies get pretty nervous at the 500hp mark and that's something GM probably wants to avoid in thier bread and butter V8 car.
