Decisions, decisions... Used 13-14 GT or New 15 GT

I currently have a 2013 V6 premium with nav, it's a manual. I've got some mods too. SR springs, roush grilles and splitter, rims, Borla exhaust, CAI, etc. been jonsing for a V8.

I get XPlan through work. I talked to a couple of dealers and can get a base 15 GT for about $29 plus whatever the tax, title, tags, etc. One of the dealers has a used 13 premium for $23k with around 35k.

Not sure what to do. I can bring all of my mods to the 13 except the exhaust and CAI and saving $5-6k is a plus. The rims will work on the 15 but that's about it.

Thoughts?

Take each for la long drive. I think then the choice will be much easier.

That sounds like alot of mileage on a 14. You should be able to get a better price than 23.

Btw is it a used 13 or 14? Your thread title says 14 but you mention a 13.

I don't think I can get much lower than $28k on a 15. Almost $4k off retail. Anyone getting better deals than that?

Doesn't seem like as much room for negotiations with the new ones. Used there is always wiggle room.

I've driven both. To me they are about the same. Obviously the looks are what separates them. They have the same power train.

Honestly sitting in a GT doesn't really seem too much different than sitting in my V6. However revving it up and the difference comes out.

I feel your dilemma.....I have a '14 V6, and I'm debating on upgrading to a '15 GT. I'm not making the move until next Spring though. Because I do such little miles on my '14, they will give me the same trade in money, but maybe I can pick up a leftover '15.

Tony ! I would definitely look around for left over 2015's.. Ford will begin offering rebates to make room for the upcoming 2016's models

First, I currently have a 2015 GT PP, but came from a 2011, 2012, and 2014 GT.

With that stated, I can comfortably state that the only reason I would buy a pre-2015 Mustang, period, would be if money was a major/serious issue, or two, I wanted to go drag racing often enough that upgrades to the IRS and half-shafts would be a must.

Does the body style factor into this at all?

If not, I'd probably wait a little longer and get the 15+. It has lots of features I'd have liked in my '14 but my wife and I just didn't dig the style.

If you prefer the 11-14 body style you should also shop around some more. You might find a better fit for what you want exactly.

I went from a 2013 v6 to a 14 gt. I liked the extras on the 15 but I liked the look of the "flat" hood of the 14 and the fog lights better. The ridges on the hood of the 15 were a distraction to me.
It's always an opinion.
