Competition Orange 051A car

I was impressed with this V6 car. If I could do without navigation, four pot calipers, and Sirius, I would love this car. The interior was really nice for being cloth. Sorry, I didn't think of shooting the interior There were so many cars at the show my brain was experiencing Mustang Meltdown.

I really do like that color a lot. I wonder sometimes how'd it'd appear on a '14 convertible.

So was it an A/T or M/T ??

If Ford is still using the exhaust tips as the external identifier is was an A/T.

As far as the interior, can you at least say if it was the SAME cloth seats / upholstery as a Base GT ??

See attached pics of base GT.

Thanks,

Doug

The pattern on the V6 looks different to me. Check the rear seat, it looks smooth, like the 05-09 V6 seats. I have to say, I don't care for the V6 tribar here - the stripes are too short. It looks broken.

Also, I don't particularly care for the GT cloth pattern. I hate to say this, but it reminds me of the Fusion SE SAP cloth pattern!

It was nice, wasn't it? I spent a lot of time looking at it. It has the same wheels I am getting on my GT. It definitely did not feel like a penalty car as some think. Even the base stereo was acceptable.

Tony ... the V6 you did the rear diffuser video for ... was it an M/T car ?? The car in your video had a different license plate than the one the OP (JJG) took pics of ... that car WAS an A/T.

If so, it looks like they're using the smaller pipe-within-a-pipe exhaust tips that Ford used on all the 2011-14 V6 with A/T on all 2015 V6 & EB ... 2011-14 V6 M/T had bigger open pipe tips that looked much better.

I've also seen the V6 interior pics you (Tony) posted over on M6G and it is definitely DIFFERENT upholstery than the base GT ... boo hoo. The GT cloth looks much nicer / sporty to me, hopefully they are using that on the base EB too.

Doug

The base interior doesn't look bad but IMO if I was buying I would get leather.

Looks like the same car and locale to me.

This car was a manual. See attached interior photo.

Yes, the V6 cloth interior is different than the GT cloth interior in the 2 cars I saw. I actually like the V6 cloth interior as much as I did the GT version.

I have to nit-pic...what in the world is going on with the anti-freeze and brake fluid reservoirs?? Did a designer intentionally make them look awful, in an otherwise smart-looking engine bay?

Agreed. And maybe I'm just used to my S197 engine bay, but it seems more organized. In fairness, I've removed the sound tube, replaced the intake tube, and covered the battery/brake resevoir, but all the major factory wiring, tubes, and pipes are intact and more tidy.

The engine compartment on the 2015 seems to be a jumble of mish mosh. Many of us like to leave the hood open at shows and cruises, but that one needs to stay shut.

I haven't seen what the GT engine looks like. Perhaps it's neater.

On Ford.com "build & price" they show a V6 cloth that is different than the GT/Ecoboost cloth. Maybe Tony remembers better than me, but the way I remember is that the CO car at the show had the non-embossed cloth as shown in the lower pic.

It appears the license plate number was digitally altered on that photo. As shown in the photo I recently posted, the car had a manual transmission.

Good memory! I have additional interior photos posted on the Mustang6g forums.
