Yep, looks like Lightning McQueen's new Mustang friend

I agree though....lose the "cartoon" looks and there's a lot to like there

I particularly like they way they've used the sill/door shape to form a C-scoop!

I kinda like that C-scoop integrated into the back edge of the door opening as well.

The rest just looks like wild ricer fascia kit on the existing car and really does not look like an advanced or evolved design at all.

Actually, I like the fact it's not a particularly advanced design of the current car. Gently evolution is all that's required as the Mustang rocks as it is.

Not sure why I didn't catch it at first, but that front end just screams SNAKE. Perfect for a Cobra

I don't think it'd take too much work to turn this BMW concept into a futuristic Mustang... I particularly like the rear quarter view. Change the roof line a little, but keep those hips and that ducktail, I think it's pretty slick looking.

It already has a trapezoidal grill, just take the center bar out. Invert the bottom grill opening, Raise the roof line and square it up just a little. What about a 69-70s scoop up on the hip?

What do you think TN?

Here's a very crude first attempt at that rear quarter view. I'm having a time figuring out the back end. I'd really like to see the some '68 Shelby style lights on a future Mustang, but I'm coming up blank making it work into this...

After looking at it again, I like the rear design from that green concept a few pages back, i bet it would work well on here.
This is it for the night, TN and others, feel free to use any of these if you feel so inclined.

It looks a lot like the Giugiaro concept.

maybe the time for that car has come.

These were more official sketches of the 2010, but often point the way to the next-gen cars down the line. The rear ends are gorgeous

The thing I like about these is they are very Muscular looking. I was in a Parking lot a few days ago standing between a 2009 Roush 427R and a new Camaro RS and I thought WOW THESE LOOK LIKE MUSCLE CARS!.

I see an Aston Martin here.

I agree, I think these drawings still capture a muscular body line, futuristic look and a new direction for the mustang. As much as I love the vertical bar tail lights, those long (old school GT500/Cougar) style lights would look great!
Take some length out of the current car lower it down a bit, make the hips match the meaty tires and then...wait, I think this would pretty much be the love child of an M3 and a Mustang. That's oddly a hot bit of carporn.

just some messing around. Not sure if I will go any further but the idea hit me and I had to jot it down.
Almost a modern version of the rear of my Jackhammer Mustang

I really like those lines. Very similar to the current model, but they seemed tightened up more.

If you're working on a front view, I'd very much like to see it.

Do it Doug.....DO IT DO IT DO IT DO IT DO IT. Please

Just a few lines, and yet that already looks to be going in the perfect direction for a modern 'Stang for me. Personally, I'd like the '69/'70 rear side window treatment (just like Jackahmmer) but this still looks fantastic. Front end? Think 2011 with a little more '69 sharknose. If it 'aint broke......just tweak it!
