I love these. They are very Modern and have their own style but are still very Mustang.
The green is my Favorite. those rear quarter lines help keep the Muscle car feel.

Nothing that flat will ever be mass produced. No headroom, and visibility would be zero. The trick is going to be creating a fresh new design that doesn't look too much like past Mustangs, yet is still practical on the road. This isn't it. I think the '05-'11 stangs just about nailed it. Ford may have to completely change the Mustang design if it doesn't want to repeat itself. It's possible that the only thing the new stang will have in common with the previous generations will be the grill pony. It has to happen someday.

Well, the Camaro isn't far off that. Sure, some complain about the visibility, but I'd put up with that for stunning looks

The Camaro, being more of a coupe than fastback, obviously doesn't have such a sleek rear window, but hopefully you get my drift. Also the rendering of the Mustang is taken from the perspective of being sat almost on the floor behind it, so the rear window will always look much more raked.

Renderings like those above are caricatures of the real thing they point a direction they aren't meant to represent what the real car will actually look like.

I like the tail lights of the orange rendering, but both cars look too squat and bulbous to me.

I think we all understand that Concept sketches are an Extreme of a possible reallity. With that said, I like the idea of the Green sketch ( with the tail lights of the Orange) But it would need to be a little higher. If you took those basic lines and stretched them up it would look like a futureistic version of this.

Dude I was thinking the exact same thing. White LEDs under a clear plastic trim ring.

Very neat idea, TN. Ford, are you watching???

As you're a Photoshop God, TN, how about adding a touch more headroom to those two sketches in an attempt to make them a little less concept, a little more production. I guess that'd also mean a little less width on those rear haunches, too.

Pretty please?

radically different/modern, but both still look unmistakably mustang...no complaints here- and Ive probably complained more about the last rearend upgrade than anyone

hidden/halo ring for backups is a interesting idea..I dont like the current 4 big white sections of taillight, but love the idea of 6 hidden ones!

edit- no kidding- my 2 yr old just walked up and I pointed to the above pictures, said 'whats that?'...he answered 'MUSH-tangs' with a big smile

I like the imgage of the green mustang, but I too would like to see it with the tail lights from the render in orange. Changing the aspect ratio on the image would prevent the car from looking too low, and might give a look closer to a production model.

Quick'n'dirty--putting the orange render's tail lights on the green image puts me in mind of a '68. Like the image in Red--looks good.

Wow, excellent work. Can you now flip that over so you've got a shot of the whole car with your mods? How easy would it be to drop the exhaust below the rear bumper, so it's more like the '05??

Don't want much, do I?

For Twin Turbo: Here is an image of the green car with the tail lights from the orange car. I don't really have photoshop, so it is simply cut and paste.

I did change the aspect ratio. The original is typical show-car style, with a lower stance. Expanding the image then contracting the width without preserving the original aspect gives the image a 'taller' look than the original.
