Timing Chain Guide Replaced

Took my car in last Wednesday to have the dealer investigate a weird metallic scraping notice coming from the what seemed to be the top end of the engine at idle. It wasn't consistent, so I was afraid I would get the usual dealer run around that you couldn't recreate the sound. But to my surprise they hear the sound and determine that it was a timing chain guide.

As this afternoon they finally got the part and I should have my car back tomorrow.
  • Has anyone else had this type of issue?
  • Should I be looking out for anything else once I get the car back?

By chance, did this start after an oil change? Sounds like they are doing the TSB 11 15 09, but if your car was built after 4/1 it may not solve it.

TSB 11-9-15

You're right. Got my car back today and the service invoice indicates TSB 11-9-15 was performed. No more noise and drives great.

No, and the ticking has never been solved.
