Rearview Mirror rattle

Anyone else have a rattle coming from their rear view mirror? I was riding with Dreamtheory this weekend and his car has a pretty bad rattle coming from the mirror pretty much every time the car goes over a bump.

Just hoping mine wont have the same

Hey, I know this is an old thread, but I have the same **** problem. It took me weeks to locate, but I'm now sure it's the rear-view mirror. Did you ever find a solution?

Also, I've done some trouble-shooting, and when I tap the mirror, I hear the rattle. But if I hold the top of the base (where it's mounted to the windshield), and also tap, no rattle. Ideas?

Turn the radio up or get some headers.

Sounds like there is an electric component inside the mirror that is loose. Probably a small circuit board that is rattling around inside it. Unfortunately that will likely mean a removal and disassembly of the mirror or a total replacement.

I would let the dealership handle it. They'll probably just replace it under warranty.

Thanks, Moustang. You are correct, but I wanted to go to the dealer as a last resort. I was hoping someone else had the problem, and fixed it easily at home, and I would do same.

I wouldn't even think about f ing with the rear view mirror. Let the dealer do it. Nothing good ever comes from messing with the rear view mirror.

Why risk the chance of ****ing it up and then the dealer refusing to fix it because you ****ed with it...
