Foam in Driver Seat Has a Rip

I also had this happen to me on my 2007 GT and now my 2010 GT. The foam ripped and the seat frame protruded through. Kind of annoying to have metal poking you in the back!

Fortunately, this time it happened while I could get it covered under warranty.

I am curious if anyone had this happen.

The seat back foam was replaced under warranty.

This is the first time I've heard of this happening, and we've owned several S197 including a 2005, 2006, 2008 and 2011. Do you reach around alot to get something from the backseat?

I do not. I just sit in the seat! As far as I know, I don't "lean heavy" on the one side. When I enter the vehicle, I don't brace myself on the seat either. As I weigh 218lbs, I don't think I am taxing the design limits

You weigh about 20 lbs less than me. I'll have to check the seat foam on my 2008 before it goes out of warranty, if possible. Thanks for the heads-up.

You should be able to feel the seat frame underneath seat covering when you press on the area of the seam between the side bolster and the seat back. Hopefully you won't find anything! If you do, I suggest getting replaced under warranty because it cost me $400+ on my 2007.
