Does anyone else's 5.0 feel significantly faster after some mileage??!?!
I just rolled 11,500 in my '11 GT...all stock except for some inconsequential exhaust mods.
Sadly, I have no data to back this up but I'd put good money on the fact that this car is noticably and measurably faster than it was, even 5k miles ago.
Some of this could be learning curve-getting better at keeping the motor in the heart of the power band (which is a big target, BTW ) but...I swear that it's just now getting broken in.
Anyone else finding this?
I love this car more every time I drive it.

I felt like the motor in my car was pretty good around your mileage...far enough past the reccomended break-in period to start enjoying the powerband and it was already obvioulsy better than the old 4.6L 3v.... but I think the motor is significantly stronger now.

I would not say that "fast feels slow" (on the ground) so much as once one hits a certain speed in a vehicle, more speed increases don't make much difference in the "feeling". The type vehicle will vary the speed at which things change and also, the surroundings will effect a persons feeling of fast. Doing 70 on a 2 lane country road feels faster than doing 70 on an open divided interstate.
Fly in an Air Force fighter to feel "fast is slow"......

I've put 46,000 miles on my 2011 5.0 so far, its going strong as ever!
The roush exhaust has considerably gotten louder since I got them new, put the axel backs on at 15,000 miles.

Then something's wrong with the navy's fighters because when you go fast in them, they feel FAST. Flew in an F-14 ready five fighter at NAS New Orleans when I was stationed down there for TAD as a marine. Still the best 45 minutes of my life.

Everything breaks in with miles - Engine, axle bearings, driveshaft bearings, Transmission bearings ... so the more miles the less resistance on everything which makes it quicker.

Not sure if this helps..... But my 13 feels better now that I passed 1,000kms...I'm not honking on the car, but it does feel like it revs up the power band better.

21000+ and the transmission is definitely much better. It has been 10,000 miles since I did the fluid change and it is really almost flawless, which I am sure contributes to the way I drive. The engine seems to rev faster and is very quiet, especially with the sound tube removed. I am not sure the car is "faster", it just seems to be smoother in all gears. And still not a squeak or rattle to be heard.
