Breather leak or twisted axle tube?
Breather leak or twisted axle tube?
I have a '12 Brembo GT (purchased in May 2012) that just turned 4k and I completed the 1st oil change this weekend. While the car was up, I noticed the wet diff on the drivers side. A little searching turns up a TSB on the breather vent (drivers side axle tube). Does this look like an excessive amount of diff fluid to be coming out of the vent?

Or does this look like a twisted & leaking axle tube, I have never tracked this car or raced it in any form or fashion. Hell, it's just now broken in! I have yet to even witness the shift light flash. I'm going to take it to the dealer with the TSB in hand tomorrow, just wanted a little background knowledge because they are idiots.

They replaced the axle tube or the vent tube? If it was the axle tube, it seems like it'd be cheap just to swap the whole housing.
I've determined that the vent is the issue. I weighed the pro/cons of having the TSB performed. The turkey baster vent might fix it, but I intend to eventually attend track events so I decided to install the GT500 finned cover, relocate the vent to the top of the diff, and fill with Royal purple 75w140. The cost of doing this is ~$140, which to me is less than the hassle dealing with a dealer...
Just had my vent replaced this past weekend at the dealer during my annual inspection. They said the manufacturer sometimes does not put sealant around the threads on the vent tube when it is installed in the axle. So far so good.

This was not the case with mine. When I removed the vent to install the plug, there was plenty of yellow thread sealant on it. I relocated the vent to the port in the top of the GT500 cover.
I had the TSB done and they put the Turkey baster on. Well the over axle pipe melted the whole top of it. So its probably sealed shut lol. Now I put on aftermarket OTA pipes so they will probably charge me for it.
Isn't there a new TSB without the Turkey baster style?
